Benefit and Retirement Plan Advisor

The Opportunity

As the Benefit & Retirement Plan Advisor, you’ll play a key role in shaping the programs that support our people. Reporting to the Manager, Compensation & Benefits, you’ll drive the governance, compliance, and enhancement of AgeCare’s group benefit and retirement plans. You’ll partner closely with internal teams and external providers to ensure our plans remain competitive, compliant, and aligned with our values.

What You will do

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on benefit and retirement plan legislation and requirements.

  • Support annual reporting, renewals, census submissions, and governance activities for group benefits, RRSP, and pension plans.

  • Analyze and resolve complex escalations, providing clear guidance to stakeholders.

  • Respond to benefit and retirement data requests.

  • Support collective bargaining by preparing recommendations, costing, and plan information.

  • Implement plan updates and amendments, ensuring accuracy in Workday and alignment with agreements.

  • Monitor plan data for compliance with rules and governance standards.

  • Develop and update process documentation, communications, and plan materials, coordinate information sessions with providers.

  • Identify opportunities for improved efficiency and quality in plan administration.

  • Contribute to projects and related initiatives as required.

What You Bring

  • Post-secondary degree in Human Resources or equivalent experience.

  • 3–5 years of experience in group benefits and retirement plan administration/governance.

  • CEBS preferred; CPHR an asset.

  • Experience with HRIS (Workday preferred) and advanced Excel skills.

  • Strong understanding of multi-jurisdictional requirements and related legislation (BC, AB, ON).

  • Experience with system reporting and analytics

  • Healthcare or multi-union environment experience is an asset.
