Requirements
Registered Nurse, RN license issued by the state of Wisconsin
Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred, but Associates degree in Nursing considered.
Requires at least 1 year of experience in nursing. 2 years of nursing experience preferred
Requires 1 year experience with patients having co-occurring behavioral health presentations, or in psychiatric or behavioral health
Current CPR certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
Experience in a pediatric medical setting is strongly preferred.
Experience working with children, adolescents, and families
Experience working with diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Provides services in a setting where there is potential for exposure to blood and other high risk body fluids, chemotherapy agents, communicable disease and hazardous materials, chemicals, and waste.
Ongoing risk of vicarious trauma by providing services to a population that carriers a high burden of injury through experiencing adversity and violence.
Employees may:
Need to move from furniture to floor or engage in play-type activities with children in a variety of room types (exam, interviewing, therapy).
Need to verbally de-escalate upset children, adolescents, or adults.
Need to adapt approaches or communication styles to fit the needs of the patient population.
