Basin Operations

Cleveland-Cliffs has an immediate opportunity for Basin Operations Technicians at our Northshore Mining Company plant facility located in Silver Bay, MN. The primary function of this position includes the operation of multiple pieces of large mining equipment including end-dump trucks, front-end loaders, dozers, graders, Pickers/Cranes, and excavators.  GPS equipment operation and manual work such as laying pipeline is also required.

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Operation of multiple pieces of large mining equipment as assigned to support the Basin Operating Plan .
• Construct pipeline as needed for material movement.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Recent operating experience required and demonstrated proficiency on multiple types of heavy equipment.
• Possess a strong work ethic and work well in a self-directed team environment.
• Willing to work a flexible work schedule with varying days off.
• Willing to be flexible with work assignments.
• Excellent safety record.
• Excellent attendance record.
• Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Post-secondary degree for heavy equipment operations / maintenance is preferred.
• Experience with civil construction (print reading, surveying, finishing to grade, etc.) preferred.

The pay range for this role is $30.72/hour to $45.31/hour.
