THE JOB:
As the Banquet Manager at Borgata, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of the Banquet department. All duties will be performed in compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and ordinances, as well as departmental and company policies and procedures, ensuring a successful and seamless banquet experience.
 

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Manages the Banquet team to include efficient staffing, employee development and training, performance management and policy enforcement.

  • Manages and monitors fiscal budget, operations of assigned departments and marketing strategies to produce both short- and long-term profitability.

  • Stays up to date on current production trends and service techniques.

  • Provides input into the research, development, evaluation and implementation of new products, services, technology and processes to ensure the competitive position in anticipation of changing customer needs within the dynamic hospitality and gaming environment.

  • Coordinates with convention services, culinary, beverage and stewarding on all events.

  • Receives BEO sheets from Catering department to determine the amount of business, workload duties and scheduling.

  • Meets with function contacts to determine last minute changes and to discuss details of the event.

  • Attends department and BEO meetings as required.

  • Orders and ensures all materials are available for events. Accounts for all food, beverage, labor and material equipment used.

  • Completes reports and maintains records of all banquet events as required by MGM.

  • Promotes and maintains the highest level of customer service to all guests while staying alert to their needs.

  • Responds effectively to guest inquiries and providing excellent guest service.

  • Resolves guest complaints within scope of authority; otherwise refers the matter to management. Notifies senior management and/or Security of all unusual events, circumstances, missing items, or alleged theft.


THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • High School Diploma or GED Required

  • 3+ Years of Restaurant and or Banquet Manager, Assistant Manager or Supervisor Required

  • Strong knowledge of purchasing, inventory controls, supplies and equipment Required

  • Strong financial management skills.

  • Required

  • Experience in multi-tasking of projects and project management Required

  • Excellent guest service and hospitality skills Required

  • Strong problem solving, analytical and listening skills Required

  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Required

Pay Range:

The pay range for this role is:

$49,000.00 - $65,300.00

Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, including location.

This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s incentive plan.
