Role Summary/Purpose:

In this role, you will support the overall credit (portfolio and account) management of the Health and Wellness platform. A portfolio that generates $10+B in credit sales annually across PLCC, Network and Dual Card, and Allegro Installment products.  This role includes credit and operational risk evaluation; delinquency, loss and fraud mitigation; enforcement of credit policies and portfolio monitoring. This role acts as a key Credit interface and requires extensive cross functional interaction including leadership and support of business and functional initiatives.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead development and enhancement of new account credit strategies across revolving and installment products, utilizing advanced underwriting techniques to balance risk-reward tradeoff and drive profitable growth

  • Drive the enhancement of credit monitoring and report‐out of acquisition metrics designed to identify critical product/strategy success measures

  • Understand portfolio nuances to identify and communicate how acquisition actions impact overall portfolio performance

  • Prepare and deliver client and internal presentations

  • Ensure strategies support both business and provider objectives, while driving toward a scalable, standardized, decision and reporting structure

  • Work effectively cross‐functionally to drive smart growth and Provider satisfaction

  • Ensure credit strategies are performing as expected

  • Support driving enhanced strategies, using champion/challenger learnings to manage credit exposure & balance risk appetite

  • Drive the implementation of credit monitoring and tracking systems designed to quantify the differences in effectiveness of alternative credit strategies

  • Investigate and resolve various customer and client issues

  • Provide reporting and analysis for all product

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of experience in a consumer and/or commercial Credit/Risk, Finance or Analytics role; or in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, 4+ years of experience in a consumer and/or commercial Credit/Risk, Finance or Analytics role

  • 1+ years' experience in SAS, SQL, Tableau, Python, R or other related analytic tools

  • Ability and flexibility to travel for business as required

Desired Characteristics:

  • Leadership experience operating at a strategic level as part of a cross functional team

  • Experience operating as part of a cross functional team

  • Use and knowledge of advanced technical & analytical competencies in driving development of credit risk criteria and strategies

  • Strong communication and presentation skills and the ability to interact with and present to SYF senior leaders

  • Experience creating and leading organizational change

  • Master’s Degree or MBA with advanced analytic focus, or equivalent advanced degree

Grade/Level: 10

                                                             

The salary range for this position is 100,000.00 - 170,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles.  Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles.  Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post.  All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
