About the Role
The role of IT Service Continuity Manager (ITSCM) will establish, own, and mature IT Service Continuity Management end-to-end across Diageo. This role is accountable for defining the enterprise ITSCM strategy, operating model, governance, and execution to ensure Diageo’s critical IT services are resilient, recoverable, and prepared for major disruptive events.
This role will build ITSCM as a core enterprise capability, embedding consistent processes, standards, and accountability across global markets, platforms, and third-party suppliers, ensuring Diageo can withstand, respond to, and recover from major incidents and crises with minimal business impact.
Dimensions:
Strategy & Governance
· Define service resilience objectives (RTO, RPO, MTPD) in partnership with business, application, and infrastructure owners.
· Establish governance, operating model, and assurance mechanisms for IT continuity across regions, platforms, and service towers.
· Ensure compliance with internal risk standards, audit requirements, and external regulatory obligations.
· Define and own Diageo’s IT Service Continuity Management strategy, aligned to:
o Business Continuity Management (BCM)
o Enterprise Risk Management
o Cyber Security and Crisis Management
· Design and implement a fit-for-purpose ITSCM operating model, including:
o Policies, standards, and procedures
o Roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities
o Integration with ITSM, architecture, and delivery teams
· Establish ITSCM as a sustainable, embedded capability, not a one-off compliance activity.
Critical Service Identification & Impact Analysis
· Lead the identification and tiering of critical IT services in partnership with business partners.
· Ensure Business Impact Analysis (BIA) outputs are translated into:
o Clear IT recovery requirements
o Prioritised recovery sequencing
o Realistic, business-approved RTOs and RPOs
· Maintain an enterprise view of critical service dependencies, including infrastructure, applications, data, and third parties
Continuity Planning & Resilience Design
· Ensure IT Service Continuity Plans are created, maintained, and owned for all critical services.
· Work with architecture, infrastructure, cloud, and application teams to:
· Influence resilience-by-design
· Address single points of failure
· Ensure continuity requirements are built into new solutions and major changes
· Drive alignment between technology recovery capabilities and business expectations
Testing, Assurance & Continuous Improvement
· Define and implement a structured ITSCM testing and exercising programme, including:
o Technical recovery tests
o End-to-end service recovery exercises
o Scenario-based crisis simulations (e.g. cyber, data centre outage, regional disruption)
· Assemble lessons learned and ensured measurable improvements are implemented and tracked.
· Regularly assess maturity and drive Diageo towards industry-leading IT resilience practices.
Third-Party & Supplier Continuity Assurance
· Establish standards and assurance mechanisms for third-party IT service continuity.
· Ensure critical suppliers:
o Meet Diageo’s continuity and recovery requirements
o Are tested and validated regularly
· Provide visibility of supplier-related continuity risks to senior leadership.
Governance, Reporting & Executive Engagement
· Establish enterprise ITSCM governance, including forums, critical issue paths, and decision-making structures.
· Develop clear, executive-level reporting on:
o Continuity readiness and coverage
o Key risks and gaps
o Test outcomes and remediation progress
· Act as the primary ITSCM authority and advisor to senior technology and business leaders.
Leadership, Influence & Culture
· Act as a leader with vision and evangelist for IT resilience and continuity across Diageo.
· Influence senior participants across:
o Global Technology
o Markets and Regions
o Cyber Security, Risk, and BCM teams
· Build a culture where resilience and preparedness are embedded into how technology is designed and operated.
Reporting & Metrics
· Define and report enterprise IT resilience critical metrics, including:
o Service coverage and maturity
o Test success rates
o Recovery capability gaps
o Risk exposure trends
· Provide executive-level reporting to CIO, CISO, Risk Committees, and Audit forums
Qualifications and Experience Required
· 12–18+ years of experience in IT Operations, Infrastructure, Cloud, or Enterprise Architecture, with deep hands-on ITSCM ownership.
· Demonstrable experience leading IT Service Continuity in a large, global, complex enterprise (Fortune 500 / regulated environments preferred).
· Solid understanding of:
o IT Service Management (ITIL)
o Disaster Recovery and High Availability architectures
o Cloud resilience patterns (Azure/AWS/GCP)
o Third-party risk and vendor resilience
· Experience working with executive partners and influencing without direct authority.
Certifications (Preferred)
· ITIL (Intermediate/Expert/Managing Professional)
· ISO 22301 Lead Implementer / Auditor
· Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP)
· Cloud certifications (Azure/AWS/GCP)
· Risk or Security certifications (CISM, CRISC – a plus)

· Reduction in critical service recovery risk exposure
· Percentage of Tier 1 services meeting RTO/RPO
· Successful execution of annual continuity testing program
· Positive audit and regulatory outcomes
· Improved enterprise resilience maturity year-over-year
