The Channel Manager - Direct is responsible for overseeing the Direct channel. This role involves developing strategies to scale up the direct business. The Channel Manager is tasked with generating sales in the Direct channel by maintaining an active contact strategy and collaborating closely with the Direct sales team and Retail Sales Leaders to achieve a higher share in Direct Business. In addition to managing the Direct channel, this role will also include managing Mumbai individually, as this is the largest market for the channel. The individual in this role will report to the Head of Direct Business.
Supervise the activities of direct channel team members and execute the sales plan to meet and exceed goals and targets.
Generate sales in the Direct channel, including maintaining a strategy to contact clients and monitoring the segmentation of clients in the channel.
Planning engagement strategies with Direct Channel, which includes virtual seminars and sessions for clients.
Deliver sales presentations to current and potential clients.
Drive the direct team and outsourced sales force to achieve business objectives and regularly review performance and provide guidance to optimize effectiveness and achieve business objectives.
Closely monitor and ensure the accurate recording of all activities, client interactions, and marketing initiatives in the CRM system. Ensure team adherence to CRM protocols and foster a culture of accountability and precision in data management.
Stay updated on competitors’ sales products by benchmarking peers and provide feedback on local markets to the country leadership team.
Apply the requirements of the regulatory authority and mitigate risks; escalate to senior management as needed.
To enhance cross-functional collaboration by partnering with Client Services, GFAR, FTA, and Sales Management to ensure the smooth functioning of sales roles within the team, focusing on internally directed tasks.
Providing training on product pitch, cross-selling, and upselling. Coaching, motivating, and ensuring team members have the opportunities for growth and success.
Represent the Franklin Templeton brand and culture through day-to-day activities.
Master's degree or equivalent (preferred)
15-18 years of sales experience in Mutual Fund/ wealth management industry.
Handled Direct vertical in the earlier stint in Mutual Fund industry.
High knowledge and understanding of Financial Markets.
AMFI/NISM certification (Advisors’ Module) is mandatory.
Effective communication and presentation skills. Should be fluent in English.
Strong experience in leading, supervising, and motivating a team of sales professionals.
Strong negotiating and influencing skills.
High on perseverance & patience.
Work Shift Timings - 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM IST
