Job Summary
The Automation Jr. Engineer IV at Jabil, Inc. supports the development, implementation, and maintenance of automation systems, contributing to process optimization and efficiency across manufacturing operations. This role focuses on applying established engineering principles to solve technical challenges under supervision.
Job Responsibilities
* Assist in the design, development, and testing of new automation solutions, including robotic systems, PLCs, HMIs, and vision systems.
* Support the installation, commissioning, and validation of automation equipment on the production floor.
* Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of existing automation systems to minimize downtime.
* Collect and analyze data to identify areas for process improvement and contribute to optimization efforts.
* Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and operating procedures.
* Collaborate with senior engineers, production teams, and other departments to ensure seamless integration of automation solutions.
* Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing practices.
* Adhere to all safety protocols and quality standards during all automation activities.
* Provide technical support and training to production operators on automated equipment as needed.
Job Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
* 1-3 years of experience in an automation or manufacturing environment, preferably with exposure to PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell), robotics (e.g., Fanuc, KUKA), and HMI development.
* Basic understanding of industrial control systems, sensors, actuators, and motor control.
* Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
* Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Familiarity with industry standards and safety regulations for automation equipment.
* Ability to work flexible hours and occasional weekends as required by production demands.
