Automation Intern

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Create detailed physical and electrical designs.

2. Provide low-level engineering support to engineers and other support personnel within division.

3. Complete assigned work within agreed upon schedule and budget to a high level of quality.

4. Construct relay equipment racks for testing purposes on projects and assist with the testing.
5. Support SEL’s software testing process through requirements validation.
6. Follow engineering quality assurance procedures.
7. Continuously identify, measure, and improve processes.
8. Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
9. Understand. Create. Simplify.
10. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Current student pursuing a degree in computer science or equivalent with at least one year of technical coursework completed
Programming experience in C#, C++, Java, Python or equivalent OO programming language
Ability to execute and document defined testing procedures
Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
Background check results satisfactory to SEL
Negative drug test result(s)

Preferred Qualifications
Experience using scripting languages, such as Python, JavaScript, Perl, Ruby
 Practical knowledge of developing Microsoft Windows applications
 Knowledge of SQL and database concepts
 Knowledge of MS Office suite
