Automation Engineer, Senior Associate

HINJEWADI PUNE Full time

We are looking for a QA Automation Engineer with around 3 years of experience to design, develop, and maintain automated test solutions for web and/or API-based applications. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in testing concepts, hands-on automation experience, and the ability to work closely with development and product teams in an agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for web and API applications

  • Execute automated and manual test cases and analyze test results

  • Collaborate with developers, product owners, and business analysts to understand requirements and define test scenarios

  • Create and maintain test plans, test cases, and test data

  • Identify, log, and track defects using defect management tools (JIRA or similar)

  • Perform regression, smoke, and sanity testing as part of release cycles

  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives

  • Ensure test coverage and quality metrics are met before releases

  • Continuously improve automation frameworks, test coverage, and testing processes

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in QA with strong focus on test automation

  • Strong understanding of software testing fundamentals (STLC, SDLC, test design techniques)

  • Experience working with test frameworks like TestNG, Cucumber and Gauge etc.

  • Hands-on experience with automation tools/frameworks such as:

    • Selenium / Playwright / Cypress

  • Proficiency in at least one programming language:

    • Java / Python / JavaScript

  • Experience in API testing (Postman, Rest Assured, or similar tools)

  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, etc.)

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities
