Post-Bac Student Researcher – Audiology and Otology

The Audiology and Otology sections are seeking a motivated student researcher for a one-year position to support our mission of advancing research, education, and innovation in patient care. This role focuses on improving outcomes for individuals with hearing loss and balance disorders—conditions linked to serious health impacts such as falls, social isolation, cognitive decline, and reduced quality of life.

The student researcher will contribute to ongoing projects by assisting with data collection, literature reviews, and laboratory tasks. This position offers hands-on experience in clinical research, allowing students to apply academic knowledge to real-world challenges in audiology and otology. The ideal candidate will bring curiosity, creativity, and a collaborative spirit to help drive meaningful progress in our research efforts.

This is a 1 year temporary position. This position is not available for visa sponsorship.

A caregiver in this position works from 8:00AM - 5:00PM.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Learn laboratory techniques to support ongoing research projects in a laboratory or clinical setting.  

  • Learn how to record and analyze data related to research experiments or data sets.  

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Undergraduate Degree

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Previous research laboratory experience

  • Accepted or or planning to enroll in an accredited college or university as a medical student, MA/MS student or other graduate program student; excludes PhD students

  • This position is NOT applicable to anyone who has completed all requirements for master’s or other advanced degree.

Physical Requirements:

  • Working in a stationary position for extended periods

  • Operating a computer and other office equipment

  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information

  • Ability to distinguish color

  • Manual dexterity to handle specimens and repair equipment

  • Lifting and transporting equipment or specimens weighing up to 20 pounds

  • Some exposure to hazardous chemicals, biohazards, radioactive materials, etc.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required
