Attorney 1 (Contracts Management)

Job Overview
This person will be responsible for managing contractual questions and issues related to contracts with IQVIA's vendors. Prepare initial drafts of contracts, revise contracts and prepare execution copies; track contracts in database; establish and maintain contract files; prepare and send client correspondence. Identify and support implementation of improvements in the contracting process.

Essential Functions

  • Review, draft and negotiate a broad range of vendor contracts. 

  • Ensure that contracts are in compliance with legal, regulatory and organization policies. 

  • Monitor the contract process to assure compliance with the organization's contractual guidelines, satisfaction of customers/vendors, including participation in pre-contract discussions, contract negotiations and contract changes.

  • Undertake projects and respond to internal and external requests, forwarding issues to appropriate individuals, as needed.

  • Participate in the development of department procedures to improve the timely completion of contract deliverables.

  • Track work and obtain appropriate reviews and approvals, adhering to established processes.

  • Perform legal research and other duties as assigned.

  • Ensure delivery of a final contract in a timely fashion, working independently or as part of a team.

  • Identify support required from Line Manager on contract terms that require extensive negotiation.

  • Conduct written and/or verbal follow-up with vendors after the delivery of draft or signature-ready contracts.

  • Attend regional meetings to discuss assigned project issues and disseminate information from meetings as appropriate.

  • Support departmental activities directed toward meeting planned and projected Corporate goals including sales/revenue/customer satisfaction goals.

  • Attend and participate in Team meetings.

Qualifications and requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Law

  • Active Bar Association

  • Ability to negotiate, read and draft in English, as well as fluent in spoken English.

  • Strong organizational, planning, project management, communication, presentation and influence skills.

  • Proficient in drafting various type of contracts in English, in special Commercial contracts and negotiating complex deals directly with customers and vendors.

  • Qualified to practice law in a global organization and has solid post qualification experience. 

  • Prior in-house experience in the pharmaceutical industry and/or familiarity with drug discovery and development process will be a plus.

  • Ability to work creatively and self-motivated in a fast-paced environment

  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work simultaneously on multiple priorities

  • Ability to work independently, establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and clients, and at the same time be a good team player 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and influence skills with open, direct communication style

  • Excellent skills using MS Office Suite: MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint.
