We are seeking a confident and capable Assistant Manager to be based on-site and take ownership of day-to-day operational activities. This role requires a hands-on leader who can independently manage site functions, coordinate teams, ensure operational excellence, and serve as the primary point of contact for all site-related matters.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

The Assistant Manager will oversee daily site operations, ensuring all activities run smoothly and efficiently. This includes monitoring workflows, identifying bottlenecks, implementing process improvements, and maintaining operational standards. You will be responsible for ensuring that service level agreements are met consistently and that site performance targets are achieved.

Team Leadership

Direct supervision of on-site staff including scheduling, task allocation, and performance monitoring. You will conduct regular team meetings, provide coaching and guidance, and foster a collaborative work environment. Building team capability through training and mentoring is a key aspect of this role.

Stakeholder Management

Act as the primary liaison between site operations and senior management, clients, vendors, and service providers. You will handle escalations, resolve issues promptly, and maintain strong working relationships with all stakeholders. Clear and proactive communication is essential.

Compliance and Safety

Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards. Conduct regular site inspections, maintain documentation, and implement corrective actions when needed. Safety of personnel and assets is a top priority.

Resource Management

Manage site resources including equipment, supplies, and budgets. Monitor inventory levels, coordinate maintenance activities, and ensure cost-effective operations while maintaining quality standards.

Reporting and Documentation

Prepare regular operational reports, track key performance indicators, and maintain accurate records. Provide insights and recommendations to management based on site performance data.

Required Qualifications

Experience: 5-8 years in operations management or facility management, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory capacity

Leadership: Proven track record of leading teams and managing operations independently

Confidence: Self-assured decision-maker who can handle pressure and resolve issues without constant oversight

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement

Problem-Solving: Strong analytical abilities with a practical, solutions-oriented approach

Technical Knowledge: Understanding of operational processes, safety protocols, and relevant industry regulations

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
