About the Role

MongoDB’s Video Production team creates educational content that helps developers learn and succeed, while also supporting teams across the company with video, audio, motion graphics, and photography. Our work includes instructional and training videos, marketing content, customer stories, event coverage, recruiting and employer brand videos, presentations, and more.

We’re looking for a Videographer who can independently own video projects from concept through delivery and collaborate closely with cross-functional partners. This role is well suited for someone with strong production experience, sound creative judgment, and the ability to balance multiple projects in a fast-moving environment.

This role is based in our New York City office. 

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end production of video content, from planning and filming through editing and delivery
  • Create educational, marketing, and internal video content that aligns with MongoDB’s brand and messaging
  • Edit video content in Adobe Premiere, using established templates, MOGRTs, and After Effects projects as needed
  • Lead on-set production, including lighting, audio recording, camera operation, and directing subjects when appropriate
  • Set up and maintain production studios, lighting, and equipment for video and photo shoots
  • Create supporting assets such as motion graphics and b-roll
  • Capture video and photography at events, offices, customer sites, and employee activities
  • Partner with teams across the organization, including Curriculum Engineering, Field Marketing, Sales, and Employer Brand
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while balancing timelines, quality, and stakeholder expectations
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of video workflows, tools, and production processes

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience in video production
  • A portfolio or demo reel demonstrating ownership of projects from concept through final delivery
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere and strong knowledge of After Effects
  • Experience using industry-standard cameras (Sony, Canon, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of professional lighting and audio recording techniques
  • Ability to transport, set up, and operate professional video production equipment
  • Experience managing multiple projects independently in a collaborative environment
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% as needed

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with creating motion graphics and animations beyond templates
  • Experience producing educational, technical, or developer-focused content
  • Experience with coloring log footage
  • Experience with professional photography (specifically corporate headshots and event photography)
  • Experience working in a B2B, SaaS, or technology company

Compensation at the time of offer is unique to each candidate and based on a variety of factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of MongoDB’s total compensation and benefits package. $53,000$105,000 USD
