Associate Technical Program Manager

Minneapolis, MN Full time

Impact

As an Associate Technical Program Manager, you play a pivotal role within our project teams between Engineering, Product and other cross-functional partners. You collaborate seamlessly to manage individual projects, typically handling 1-2 concurrently, though no more than 3, contingent on size, scope, and complexity. Your focus lies in navigating project-specific challenges within clear and well-defined parameters, making informed decisions within the project context by applying established guidelines. You actively engage with project team members, occasionally interfacing with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders, contributing to a collaborative and dynamic work environment. While receiving regular guidance and oversight from the TPMO Manager, you also have the opportunity to benefit from mentoring by more senior TPMs, ensuring your professional growth aligns with our organizational objectives. Your role is crucial in driving successful project outcomes, and contributing to the broader success of our technical initiatives.

How you can make an impact:
Project Planning & Execution:  Develop and manage project plans with a focus on smaller-scale projects, considering timelines and resource needs. Support project execution by following established guidelines and quality standards. Track project deliverables, progress, and overall impact on business and technical objectives.

Requirements Gathering & Documentation:  Collaborate with Engineering & Product resources to document project requirements and provide basic input on process flow. Ask questions to better understand project requirements and the requirements-gathering process.

Stakeholder Engagement:  Provide project updates, and support communication between technical and non-technical teams. Participate in and lead discussions with project teams and stakeholders.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:  Foster collaboration among diverse teams, including Engineering, Product, Marketing, Legal, Operations, and other relevant business partners. Facilitate effective communication to enhance project efficiency.

Risk Awareness & Management:  Identify and track potential project risks/issues/dependencies, and contribute to mitigation strategies. Monitor progress and address challenges to ensure project success, escalating issues as needed.

Agile Delivery:  Support project teams by incorporating foundational Agile principles into project management processes. When necessary, partner with the project team to host Agile ceremonies.

Change Management & Adaptation:  Assist in implementing change management strategies for smaller projects, promoting adaptability within the team.

Mentorship & Continuous Improvement:  Share insights to contribute to evolving best practices and guidelines for improved team efficiency. Assist in the development of the Technical Program Management Office (TPMO) processes and playbook through active participation.
