If so, the Enterprise Automation team at Tech@Lilly is looking for a Lead Consultant in Test Automation to help scale our automation capabilities and quality practices across the organization.
As a Test Lead consultant in Test Automation, you will be responsible for driving the quality and reliability of automation solutions across the enterprise. In this role, you will work closely with Engineers and cross-functional teams throughout the full application lifecycle—ensuring that systems are thoroughly tested, resilient, and aligned with business needs from development through to production.

What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Lead Consultant you will play a pivotal role in shaping and advancing the company’s enterprise-wide automation strategy. You will leverage both your technical expertise and leadership capabilities to oversee the delivery of scalable, high-quality automation solutions. Your responsibilities will include driving resolution of complex testing challenges, leading the implementation of critical enhancements, and spearheading modernization initiatives to ensure our automation frameworks and practices are future-ready and aligned with business objectives.

- Deliver Scalable Solutions: Architect and implement automation frameworks that are robust, maintainable, and adaptable to evolving technologies and platforms.
- Foster Collaboration: Partner effectively with development, DevOps, product, and business teams to integrate testing into every phase of the software development lifecycle.
- Champion Modernization: Evaluate emerging tools, trends, and technologies to modernize testing processes and improve speed, reliability, and test coverage.
- Ensure Quality at Speed: Establish metrics and KPIs to monitor automation performance, reduce manual effort, and accelerate release cycles without compromising quality.
- Mentor and Uplift Teams: Share expertise and best practices to build testing competency across teams, nurturing the next generation of automation engineers.
What You Should Bring:
- Deep hands-on experience with a broad range of test automation tools and technologies,
- UI and functional testing: Protractor, Cypress, Playwright
- AI testing : MABL
- API testing: Postman
- Performance testing: k6, JMeter
- Mobile testing: Appium for iOS and Android
- BDD frameworks: Cucumber, SpecFlow
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve ETL design, performance, and reliability, ensuring alignment with business and compliance requirements.
- Leverage SQL or different database, Python, and automation tools to optimize testing efficiency and support continuous integration pipelines.
- Act as an ETL Testing subject matter expert, responsible for validating data movement, transformation, and integration across multiple systems.
- Proficiency in various testing types: functional, integration, regression, mobile, data, security, component, and UI/UX testing.
- Practical experience in developing test solutions using programming/scripting languages such as JavaScript.
- Define, implement, and own test strategies across enterprise-level projects and programs.
- Lead and mentor global and cross-functional QA teams, promoting best practices and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with senior leadership, product owners, architects, and development teams to ensure quality is built into all stages of the development lifecycle.
- Drive the implementation of test automation strategies and continuous testing practices.
- Identify test process improvement opportunities and lead initiatives to enhance QA maturity and efficiency
- Oversee risk identification, mitigation planning, and resolution related to QA deliverables.
- Excellent communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Exposure to Power BI, Splunk, or other monitoring/reporting tools for real-time visibility into test execution and system behaviour.
- Champion an “automation-first” mindset in test execution and continuous delivery strategies.
- Provide expert-level consultation on automation tools, frameworks, and best-fit solutions tailored to business and technology needs.
- Align people, tools, and processes to support rapid, reusable, and scalable automation solutions across the enterprise.
- Continuously evaluate emerging tools and technologies to ensure Lilly remains at the forefront of quality engineering innovation.
- Collaborate with the Test Automation Architect to ensure platforms meet standards for stability, scalability, security, and performance.
- Develop deep technical expertise in modern automation platforms and testing industry best practices to drive continuous optimization.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills.
- Drive best practices in data testing methodologies, documentation, and governance to maintain high-quality data across the enterprise.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or related technical field
- 12+ years of relevant experience in software testing and automation, with a proven track record in delivering test solutions across enterprise applications.
- Proven experience as a technical leader, with the ability to influence strategic direction and drive implementation across multiple projects
