The Role
Aspen Technology is looking for individuals to join our growing Product Quality Team to play the role of Associate Software Quality Engineer including functional and nonfunctional testing (Performance and Test Automation testing) testing of Aspen Products providing next generation Engineering, Manufacturing and Asset Optimization solutions. This is your opportunity to play an important role in this cutting-edge transformation. We are looking for a Quality Engineer with a good understanding of software development practices, to help us create and execute testing approaches for our market-leading products. This individual will create test strategies from concept, design, implementation, testing, documentation, support, and maintenance while assuring that the product line conforms to established requirements and standards. This individual will also be responsible for gathering functional requirements, information and data to proactively drive best practices from a quality perspective into the product while collaboration with R&D and Product Management. This individual is responsible for creating automated scripts and performance benchmarking and scalability, understanding of SAAS performance testing aspects a plus.
Your Impact
- Deliver a high-quality product by creating test plans, test strategy and procedures (including test environments, installation, upgrades, and configuration) in accordance with the technical specifications.
- A thought leader in executing new test procedures (functional, regression, integration, performance) by simulating customer environment and product usage.
- Engage & communicate with internal stakeholders to understand projects and expectations and then manage those projects: resources, turnaround-time, scheduling, deadlines and related project constraints.
- Ability to systematically analyze and solve typical technical problems with some guidance.
- Drive test automation for API, UI, System, Integration, performance benchmarking and scalability.
- Measure performance scalability and stress testing using load runner, JMeter, VSTS tools, K6, Grafana.
- Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
- Engage with cross functional defect/enhancements reviews & triage meetings.
- Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Knowledge of Machine Learning- Prescriptive, predictive maintenance and machine learning algorithms.
- Knowledge of Automation Software Testing tools like Selenium in C#, JAVA and Python is desirable.
What You'll Need
- BS in Engineering with Computer Science, Chemical Engineering or Equivalent major required.
- 0 to 2 years of experience in validating complex software testing projects.
- Ability to innovate and pursue new ideas in testing strategies (Shift Left, AI).
- Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies is preferable.
- Understanding of IOT and Azure Edge technologies are desirable.
- Ability to create automated scripts for WPF, Web applications, performance benchmark test scripts, scalability tests and related test automations.
- Working experience with test automation, performance, databases and test tools is desirable.
- Understanding of Cloud deployments is a plus. Good understanding of different deployment infrastructures, virtualization technologies, Cloud (PAAS/SAAS) is desirable.
