Axle is seeking a skilled Associate Scientist to join our team at NIH to support vaccine and monoclonal antibody research through the development and execution of advanced immune assays (e.g., ELISA, Western blot) and hypothesis-driven studies. The role involves managing research projects, analyzing and interpreting data, and collaborating with cross-functional teams while contributing to scientific publications and data-driven decision-making.
Technical Requirements:
Designs and executes complex immune- assays, including ELISA, Western blot, Octet, residual immune assays techniques, to support vaccine research and development initiatives.
Independently plan, design, and execute multiple hypothesis-driven research projects within bio-separation technology, applying sound scientific judgment.
Develop and implement experimental plans; analyze and interpret data with scientific rigor; and generate evidence-based conclusions that advance new methods and investigational findings.
Define clear problem statements, formulate testable scientific hypotheses, and apply conceptual thinking to guide research direction.
Manage projects to meet established goals within timeline and budget constraints, initially supporting mAb and vaccine programs with potential expansion to mRNA/LNP platforms.
Prepare and clearly present research findings at internal meetings and contribute to internal and external scientific forums.
Communicate effectively within cross-functional teams, organize meetings with defined objectives and deliverables, and contribute meaningfully to team discussions.
Provide forward-looking scientific insight to support go/no-go decisions and recommend emerging technologies for strategic consideration.
Publish new findings and methods. Evaluate new technologies.
Work under general supervision while maintaining a high degree of independence
Work focus is on immune assays for mAb and vaccine proteins
Prior industry experience preferred but not required.

This role has a market-competitive salary with an anticipated base compensation range listed below. Actual salaries will vary depending on a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location.
