Job Description

Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):

  • Execute ELISA and/or PCR testing on a regular basis, in support of process development and product characterization

  • Perform data analysis, data reporting, and further statistical analysis with advanced analysis software

  • Assist in notebook review and data verification, to support ALCOA+ principles and data integrity

  • Implement reagent titration, lot-checking/verification, and maintain proficiency testing database

  • Support transfer of ELISA and/or PCR assays from method developers to the analytical testing group

  • Write, review and edit, technical documents

  • Assist in developing, qualifying, executing and documenting PCR methods to study and characterize processes, for production of T cell therapies

  • Provide user training on instruments, sample analysis, and cross-train analysts on analytical methods

  • Project lead for improvement projects (i.e., Operational Excellence), within the team

  • Independently plans and executes experiments that support development activities and project goals.

  • Demonstrates and applies advanced level of understanding project goals and methods.

  • Selects appropriate methods and techniques in performing methods development.

  • Recommends alternatives, researches new methods and techniques and proactively seek out senior personnel to discuss potential solutions to problems.

  • Participates in group meetings. Presents results of work, interprets data, and draws conclusions regarding presented material and nature of work.

  • Works with minimal supervision on projects of moderate to complex scope.

  • Uses good verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills to provide insight into the processes used to achieve results of assigned tasks.

  • Prepares validation protocols and reports or analytical development reports.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of ELISA or PCR method development, and technical knowledge of instruments, method controls and experience with reagent inventory management systems

  • Basic knowledge in analytical techniques such as qPCR, ddPCR, ELISA, microbiology and cell-based assay techniques

  • Proficiency with aseptic technique

  • Knowledge of general lab assays (e.g., Cell Culture, ELISA, Flow Cytometry, Molecular Biology), and proficient hands-on experience

  • Understand deep characterization of patient materials, product knowledge and process characterization

  • Demonstrated ability in developing methods, techniques and evaluation criteria, for obtaining results and interpreting experimental results

  • Ability to follow laboratory procedures with attention to detail, and successfully execute experiments at the lab bench

  • Ability to think critically, demonstrate troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Previous experience with other technologies is a plus

  • Proficency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Smartsheet, Prism, JMP, and other data analysis applications

  • Highly collaborative with excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to think critically with demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced company environment with minimal direction and able to adjust workload/assignments based upon changing priorities

  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and willing to accept responsibilities outside of initial job description

Specific Education & Experience Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience with a BA or BS degree in Chemistry or Biology.

  • 3+ years of experience with MS degree in Chemistry or Biology.


 

The salary range for this position is: $99,705.00 - $129,030.00. Kite considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
