Associate ING Business Banking Real Estate Finance – South West Netherlands (36-40 hrs Rotterdam)

As an Associate ING Real Estate Finance in the South West region of the Netherlands, you will work in a dynamic, client-facing role where you quickly learn the ins and outs of banking, real estate finance and relationship management. From day one, you will take responsibility, contribute to meaningful client work and grow alongside experienced colleagues in a sector where impact, sustainability and entrepreneurship come together.

The team
As an Associate, you will become part of a Client Service Team within ING Real Estate Finance South West, based in Rotterdam. The team serves large professional real estate clients and investors and works closely with Relationship Managers, Lending Specialists and Product Specialists. You will operate in an open and collaborative team culture where initiative is encouraged, ownership is valued and you are given the space to take things on yourself. Sustainability, portfolio development and long-term client relationships play a central role in our daily work.


 

Roles and responsibilities
In this role, you support the team in achieving commercial success and further strengthening client relationships in the Real Estate sector. Your responsibilities include:

  • Conducting market, sector and portfolio analyses to support client advice
  • Preparing and building high-quality client presentations and pitch decks
  • Supporting Relationship Managers in day-to-day client servicing and deal preparation
  • Preparing client meetings and participating in client contact where appropriate
  • Monitoring data quality, keeping oversight of management reports while supporting administrative and credit processes
  • Actively contributing to internal projects and regional initiatives, working closely with the regional management team
  • Helping to organise client events and contributing to the market approach of new clients

In addition, you recognise yourself in the following:

  • You are a native Dutch speaker and communicate confidently in English, both verbally and in writing
  • You have completed a university or HBO degree; relevant internships or part-time work are a plus
  • You are comfortable working with Excel and have strong PowerPoint skills — you enjoy turning analysis into clear, professional presentations
  • You are curious about new ways of working and motivated to develop yourself in using AI and digital tools to work smarter and more efficiently
  • You are analytical, structured and eager to learn, with an eye for detail
  • You take initiative, are not afraid to ask questions and like to actively contribute to the team
  • You work well independently, but also value collaboration and supporting colleagues
