I. Job Summary | Major goals and objectives.
The Associate Producer will support our content priorities for the Des Moines Photo Studios. This position requires a broad skill set and must be able to flex into several roles as needed. This job requires an understanding of photo + video equipment and the associated software such as Capture One, Adobe Creative Suite, Frame io, etc., as well as a thorough understanding of the entire Google suite. In addition to this photo/video experience, the Associate Producer must also have a strong eye for color, design, and composition so they can succeed in the propping component of the role. The core capabilities/functions of this job are highlighted below.
Propping and Styling: There is a propping component to this role. This applies to propping for videos as well as for photography. In this capacity the Associate Producer is responsible for meeting with internal brand partners to plan and execute photo shoots by providing all the props and other items needed for photo and/or video shoots, and working with the photography team to style and execute the vision. The Associate Producer needs to be able to take direction from clients, photographers, and food stylists while also providing direction to their assistants and other support staff to ensure they are producing high quality content at a pace that keeps projects on or ahead of schedule.
Video: The Associate Producer will pull props for video production, shoot the videos, host videos, and edit videos. There is also some video planning and ideating that will be critical to success in this role. The Associate Producer must be able to pivot quickly across different roles to fill in as needed and keep us light on our feet and ready to respond.
Photography: The Associate Producer will also be asked to work as an assistant as needed. Keeping a positive attitude while shifting gears between creating content and supporting others is essential for success in this role. Depending on experience the Associate Producer may also be asked to fill in as photographer on set when needed.
II. Essential Job Functions
Weight % - Accountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable Results
45%: Pull props and prop style for photo and video shoots. Purchase new props and collaborate with the propping team on maintaining and growing the prop room.
40%: Plan, ideate, shoot, edit, host, and deliver video content across all our People Inc. Brands. Deliver all content with correct metadata/naming etc. per People Inc. standards
10%: Assisting Photographers / Studio Organization. Setup / Teardown of Photography Sets. Commercial Photography as needed.
5%: Maintain accurate financial records and share purchasing information with Prop Manager. Submit expense reports as required.
III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.
Education:
A Bachelor’s of Associate’s level degree, ideally in photography or another design or art related field, or equivalent work experience.
Experience:
2-3 years shooting photo and/or video in a studio setting, working for editorial and/or advertising brands. You must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Capture One, and have significant video editing experience. Experience prop styling and composing sets for video and photography is a must.

Technology- Well-versed in Adobe Creative Suite, Capture One, and have extensive knowledge of studio equipment. Capable of using other office technology including all of the Google Suite (email, sheets, docs, calendar) and remote meeting/screen sharing.
Flexible- You have the personality and skills to support multiple brands with different aesthetics and can deftly pivot among projects.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Ability to maintain accurate financial records and file expense reports
% Travel Required (Approximate):
Up to 5% of time traveling to location photo shoots
