Reporting to the Manager of Process Engineering, you will support the development and commercialization of new food processes and technologies. You will focus on defining critical process transformations, developing performance-based specifications, and exploring broad solution spaces—all with the goal of delivering consumer benefits through profitable, efficient, and operationally sound designs.
Your Impact
Apply the Methodology of Product/Process/Package Development (MOPD) to real-world projects.
Define and develop manufacturing processes that meet consumer needs, marketplace demands, and internal quality and cost objectives.
Identify and articulate the physical, chemical, and biological transformations required to produce new food products.
Support project goals and timelines under the guidance of a supervisor.
Conduct bench-top and pilot plant testing to develop prototypes and validate hypotheses.
Analyze experimental results and provide recommendations.
Prepare recommendations and present to management with support from your supervisor.
Maintain detailed records and contribute to Intellectual Property development.
Stay informed on consumer trends and emerging needs in the food industry.
Embrace flexibility and continuous learning in your approach to work.
Your Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Food, or Biological Engineering or related field
Minimum of 1 year of related experience or internship history with process technology, process engineering or related industry experience
Familiarity with process documentation including Process Flow Sheets, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, Mass and Energy Balances, and Process Control Strategies.
Working knowledge of applied statistics.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience maintaining a lab notebook.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to collaborate across functions and teams.
Demonstrated leadership, decision-making, and structured problem-solving skills.
Technical judgment and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Comfort working in a deliverables and success criteria-based environment.
Commitment to safety and food safety principles.
Requires travel approximately 25% of the time, with peak travel reaching 40%.
Physical Requirements
May lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
Willingness to work extensively in pilot plant and production environments.
Exposure to loud noise, heat, cold, wet, slippery conditions and all food allergens.
Ability to walk and stand for long periods.
Comfortable climbing stairs or ladders and moving safely around machinery.
Ability to drive a company or rental vehicle as needed.

Compensation:
Pay Range:$59,000-$78,000The annual salary listed above is the expected offering for this position. An employee’s actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: location, relevant experience/level and skillset, while balancing internal Conagra employees’ equity. Conagra Brands will comply with applicable law regarding minimum salaries for exempt employees.
