Associate Footwear Merchant – DTC (Timberland AMER)

What will you do?

A day in the life of an Associate Footwear Merchant at Timberland looks a little like this:

You will be a key member of the Americas Regional Merchandising team focused on supporting the Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) Footwear business across the Americas!  You will work closely with the Sr. Manager of Footwear and the Regional DTC Footwear Merchant to bring curated Footwear assortments to life for Timberland Flagship and Full Price stores, Factory Outlet stores, and Timberland.com.  You will report to the Sr. Merchandising Manager for Footwear in the Americas.

Let’s break down that day-in-the-life a bit more.

  • Partner with Channel Merchants to ensure data integrity in the line plan and PLM.

  • Perform effective and organized sample management including set-up for key milestones and mock store seasonal floor sets.

  • Partner with the Sr. Manager and Channel Merchants to develop and manage the regional line architecture and assortment strategies.  Balance mono-brand environments and store clusters to align with brand and market objectives.

  • Monitor consumer demand trends and use insights to help shape planning and assortment decisions.  Perform ad hoc reporting / analysis to support seasonal product decision-making.

  • Understand, support, and execute marketplace strategy under leadership guidance.

What do you need to succeed?

We all have unique skills that we bring to work and celebrate every day. For this role, there are foundation skills you’ll need to succeed and excel. Additionally, while formal education in a related field is great to have, we are most interested in your 2-3 years of experience and professional achievements in Merchandising or Buying.

The foundation skills you will need in this position are:

  • High focus and attention to detail

  • The ability to work within a high-functioning, dynamic environment in a fast-paced, multi-dimensional role, both independently and as a collaborative team player.

  • You enjoy problem-solving, learning through doing, and approaching tasks with a “can-do,” positive attitude.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as PowerPoint and Excel is necessary

  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written 

  • Strong organizational skills

  • The ability to effectively interpret data, understand KPIs, and make decisions and communicate using your analysis

  • Strong desire to build a career in merchandising or similar function

There are also a few skills that are not required but preferred.

  • Knowledge and high interest in the business and culture of Fashion

  • Experience working at the corporate headquarters of a major footwear and/or apparel brand

Hiring Range:

$53,600.00 USD - $67,000.00 USD annually

Incentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential.
