Roles & Responsibilities

Supervises a team of non-exempt individual contributors that typically support moderately complex global financial processes. Responsible for hiring, setting, and monitoring of annual performance plans, coaching, and career development; ensures that the proper tools are in place to support the team and the processes. Responsible for maintaining team targets of $3- $7 M.  Leads a moderately complex transactional accounting process supporting HP's global finance function, typically exercising a basic understanding of the business to determine the best method for achieving objectives. Ensures the accuracy and timeliness of accounting support. Proactively identifies opportunities for the development of systems and tools and engages in the design.

Functional & Analytics

  • Apply in-depth knowledge of finance organizational structures, supply chain models, operating models, and processes to analyse, assess and improve the BU’s finance functions and drive bottom line impact.
  • Leverage understanding of HP Inc manufacturing, procurement, and sales models to identify potential risk and mitigation.
  • Build analytical or statistical modelling to zero in opportunities to unearth process failures and financial leakages.
  • Align recovery and team objectives with the company’s goals.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve team processes, workflows, and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in meeting targets.
  • Develop action plans for team members who are underperforming, providing additional training or support as necessary
  • Forecasts, manages, and reports on project financials, planned vs actual project schedule, and resource utilization. Provides weekly status reports to communicate with senior leadership.
  • Develop strategic reports to provide predicative analytics that allow our leaders to augment business decisions.
  • Visualizing and implementing Robotic Process Automation, based on process reviews, to increase efficiency, drive cost saving and create an enhanced control environment.
  • Define and deploy end-to-end automation solutions that improve the BU’s ability to optimize reporting strategies and processes.
  • Spend reviews of $4-8B to be managed

Business Development

  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement and proactively identify opportunities for process enhancements and cost reduction.
  • Build analytical hypothesis catering to specific HP business models and processes.
  • Conceptualizing cost reduction initiatives, deploying spend analytics, contract analytics, category profiling and opportunity identification, cost modelling & financial analysis, risk analysis and supplier performance assessment. 

Stakeholder & Program Management (Internal & External Recovery Engagements)

  • Program manages new initiatives from identification, building proof of concept, creating business cases, obtaining relevant stakeholder buy-ins, deployment of analytics and managing operations to deliver profitable engagements.
  • Lead/participate in complex negotiations with suppliers/partners to recoup identified lost profits.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong business application skills (e.g., Microsoft Excel).
  • Strong communication and influencing skills.
  • Excellent teamwork skills.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Management, or related disciplines.
  • Typically 12+ years of experience in an accounting role
  • Prior people management experience would be preferred
  • Typically experienced in more than one business or global functions
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a global consulting firm, focusing on Financial Service Delivery, Analysis, or Service Operations.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in Big 4 audit firms.
  • Proven ability to deliver complex, multi-functional, and multi-stakeholder projects in large corporate environments.
  • Proficiency in big data analytics and data mining
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate teams with enthusiasm, effectiveness, and drive.
  • Strong business development skills are required.
  • A proven track record in successful business development initiatives is highly advantageous.
  • An accounting qualification beyond a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
