MUS 114LEC - Genres of Music
Studies one of the historically established musical forms in Western art music, computer music, popular music, or film music; lectures and listening assignments.
This course explores the role of music in society through the lens of musical genres. Students will analyze how genres emerge, evolve, and intersect with cultural, political, economic, and technological contexts. The course surveys a wide range of genres from classical and jazz to hip-hop, rock, electronic, folk, and world music, considering both global and local perspectives
Job Requirement
• A Ph.D or Master's Degree in related discipline from a reputable university.
• At least 2 years of relevant teaching experience at the tertiary level is preferred
• 5 years of relevant work experience will be an added advantage
• Course design and implementation based on UB syllabus and textbook
• Assessment of students
• Must be available to teach daytime on weekdays
• Familiarity with Blackboard is a plus
