Associate Placement Specialist / Life Science Placement

We are seeking candidates with the following skills/attributes to join our team:

  • Ideal candidate will be based in the NYM area and be in the office 3 days per week

In this role, we will count on you to:

  • Handle your own renewal placements and have opportunities to work alongside a senior placement broker to handle more complex risks and placements as well as new business opportunities
  • Develop and present a renewal strategy; ensure a completed submission and send to market; negotiate broad coverage terms; document all placement activities to ensure timely follow up by client, carriers and client team
  • Inspect the binding of coverage and is responsible for the accuracy of placement binders
  • Complete policy reviews and confirm policy language to support policy renewal process
  • Build relationships within your team, colleagues, insurance markets, clients, carriers and/or underwriters to provide cohesive client service
  • Consult management on complex client issues or trends through clear and concise communication and participate in development of solutions
  • Ensure client renewal transactions are compliant with our Client First Principles/ Standards and Best Practices
  • Assist in special projects within team
  • Consult with client executives and client teams to support client retention and new business production
  • Maintain a solid knowledge of market risk issues, insurance brokerage, account management, servicing and sales skills. Have a a detailed understanding of changing insurance and risk management market conditions

We would like you to have: 

  • Minimum 3+ years of Life Science insurance industry experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • P & C licensed preferred, OR able to obtain within 12 months of employment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) and the ability to learn proprietary applications/databases

Marsh McLennan is committed to hybrid work, which includes the flexibility of working remotely and the collaboration, connections and professional development benefits of working together in the office. All Marsh McLennan colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office-based teams will identify at least one “anchor day” per week on which their full team will be together in person.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $86,100 to $183,300.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
