Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Technical Publications Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with technical authors, illustrators, and engineering teams to develop and maintain high-quality aerospace technical documentation. The ideal candidate will ensure documentation complies with ATA and S1000D standards, delivering accurate and reliable publications that support aircraft component and system maintenance.

This role requires strong technical writing expertise, familiarity with aerospace documentation standards, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines while maintaining exceptional quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and revise Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM), Component Maintenance Publications (CMP), Aircraft Maintenance Manuals (AMM), and Aircraft Illustrated Parts Catalogues (AIPC) for aircraft components and systems.

• Create and maintain S1000D data modules ensuring compliance with aerospace technical publication standards.

• Author clear and accurate assembly, disassembly, troubleshooting, and repair procedures.

• Work with Common Source Databases (CSDB) to manage and maintain structured technical documentation.

• Utilize tools such as Adobe FrameMaker, Arbortext Editor, and related authoring platforms.

• Interpret engineering drawings, service documentation, and change drivers including Service Bulletins, Service Letters, ECNs, TRs, SILs, and ATPs.

• Resolve XML/SGML parsing issues and maintain structured documentation formats.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, illustration, and product lifecycle management teams.

• Ensure compliance with ATA100, iSpec 2200, and S1000D standards and follow ASD-STE Simplified Technical English guidelines.

• Support documentation updates driven by engineering changes and regulatory requirements.

• Maintain accuracy and consistency while delivering work within challenging timelines.

 

Required Skills & Tools

• Strong hands-on experience with Adobe FrameMaker and Arbortext Editor.

• Knowledge of Common Source Database (CSDB) environments.

• Familiarity with PLM tools such as Teamcenter and Enovia.

• Working knowledge of XML, SGML, and structured authoring workflows.

• Understanding of ATA100, iSpec 2200, and S1000D aerospace documentation standards.

• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical change documentation.

• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with illustration tools such as IsoDraw 7.3, 3DVIA, and CATIA.

• Knowledge of ASD-STE Simplified Technical English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.

• 1–4 years of experience in authoring aerospace technical publications such as CMM, AMM, AIPC, and S1000D Data Modules.
