Razorpay is building a new-age digital banking hub (Neobank) for businesses in India with the mission is to enable frictionless banking and payments experiences for businesses of all shapes and sizes. What started as a B2B payments company is processing billions of dollars of payments for lakhs of businesses across India. 

We are a full-stack financial services organisation, committed to helping Indian businesses with comprehensive and innovative payment and business banking solutions built over robust technology to address the entire length and breadth of the payment and banking journey for any business. Over the past year, we've disbursed loans worth millions of dollars in loans to thousands of businesses. In parallel, Razorpay is reimagining how businesses manage money by simplifying business banking (via Razorpay X) and enabling capital availability for businesses (via Razorpay Capital). 

The Role:

The Associate Director – Total Rewards will lead the governance of Razorpay’s compensation, benefits, and recognition programs. This role will partner with business and  leadership to ensure our rewards strategy is competitive, equitable, and aligned with business goals.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Compensation Strategy & Management
  • Develop and implement a scalable compensation framework across levels and functions.

  • Conduct market benchmarking and compensation analysis to ensure competitiveness.

  • Drive annual compensation planning, including budgeting, merit cycles, and incentive programs.

  • Partner with Finance and HRBPs to ensure pay decisions align with performance and budget.

  1. Benefits & Wellness
  • Evaluate and enhance employee benefits programs to improve engagement and retention.

  • Partner with vendors and brokers to manage health, insurance, and wellness programs.

  • Lead initiatives to promote employee wellbeing and holistic rewards.

  1. Variable Pay & Long-Term Incentives
  • Design and manage short-term and long-term incentive plans (e.g., sales incentives, ESOPs).

  • Develop communication and education frameworks around equity programs.

  1. Analytics, Governance & Compliance
  • Establish strong governance for compensation and benefits processes.

  • Leverage analytics to provide insights on pay equity, internal parity, and reward effectiveness.

  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and internal policies.

  1. Leadership & Collaboration
  • Partner with senior business leaders and HRBPs to advise on total rewards strategies.

  • Lead and mentor a small team of rewards professionals.

  • Champion a pay-for-performance culture while maintaining fairness and transparency.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 10–14 years of total experience with at least 5 years in total rewards, preferably in high-growth tech or fintech environments.

  • Proven experience designing and implementing compensation frameworks and incentive programs.

  • Strong analytical and financial acumen with proficiency in Excel and data visualization tools.

  • Familiarity with equity compensation and global pay benchmarking preferred.

  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.

  • MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification in HR, Finance, or related field.
