Lilly's ongoing research and commercial efforts in Neuroscience present one of the most exciting opportunities in the history of the company. There is currently a significant, growing, and intense unmet need across all key players. Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is the sixth leading cause of death in the US, and of the top 10 causes of death, it is the only disease with an increasing mortality rate and the only one that cannot be prevented or cured.

Position Description:

The AD ecosystem needs to flow smoothly for patients, information, and product to drive urgency in the process of detecting, diagnosing, and treating people with Alzheimer’s disease. There are multiple steps, stakeholders, and ecosystems (referral dynamics, advanced diagnostics, treatments, and care management), which vary greatly by geography and health system, to support overall patient care.

This role, Thought Leader Liaison (TLL), is a field-based role, aligned to the Neuroscience Field Regional Healthcare Model (RHM), is accountable for collaborating with the brand to develop a comprehensive external engagement strategy and coordinated execution plan to support external engagement within the RHM. This includes congresses, thought leader engagement and peer-to-peer (P2P) education for Lilly’s portfolio of therapies in Neuroscience from prelaunch to commercialization.  The TLL will leverage platforms and analytics to assess effectiveness of the comprehensive plan and lead adjusting accordingly. Additionally, this role closely partners with brand team to develop and manage educational engagement strategies for Neurologists, Primary Care Providers, Advanced Practice Providers, and Key Office Staff across a variety disease states and therapeutics.

This role has both an internal as well as external-facing component. Internally, this job requires strong cross-functional skills to partner with the brand teams, medical, compliance, external vendors, and others in the development, implementation, and execution of the P2P and Congress strategy.  Externally, this job includes interaction and support of contracted thought leaders (faculty and advisors) on a regular basis as well as at Neurology and Primary Care Congresses. All interactions must be consistent with commercial compliance, regulatory, and legal guidelines. Responsibilities include:

Role Responsibilities:

Engagement with Thought Leaders and Faculty (30%)

  • Responsible for TL sentiment tracking.  Leading discussions with cross functional partners to understand evolution of TL sentiment. Lead the TLs relationship with Lilly USA as their key point of contact.
  • Drive the implementation and execution of Dragonfly within Regional Healthcare Markets so field teams maintain visibility to internal TL utilization
  • Participate in site level planning for key accounts with TL/faculty
  • Own regional congress strategy. Identify and drive team Lilly field attendance and presence at regional congresses (i.e. booth, product theatre, TL dinners).
  • Lead Product theatre execution at Regional Conferences
  • Drive TL Engagement planning for congresses and field visits including strategic preparation of RHM leaders, Brand leaders, and other senior
  • Provide updates to relevant Regional Healthcare Market post-conference (National and Regional)

Engagement with Brand Team (20%)

  • Maintain a deep understanding of disease state and product understanding, including patient needs and the competitive landscape
  • Provide input into the brand teams to create positive customer experiences that compliantly differentiates Lilly from the competition in the P2P and Congress channels.
  • Assist Lilly Field Institute in the training of Territory Managers on P2P procedures and strategic use of programming
  • Oversee logistics, introductions, and brand discussions by securing Thought Leaders for field meetings or trainings

Engagement with the Field within the Regional Healthcare Markets (RHM) (30%)

Business Ownership (20%)

  • Become proficient on relevant IT platforms to streamline customer data capture and enhance team collaboration.  This includes Dragonfly, Centralized Payment System (CPS), Customer Program Portal (CPP), Faculty Resource (FR), and Veeva Vault PromoMats (VVMP)
  • Utilize tools to analyze and share key insights, ensuring continuous improvement in customer engagement and strategy execution.
  • Maintain relationship with agency/external vendor partner(s) along with day-to-day relationships with internal business partners
  • Risk Management: Responsible for understanding, implementing, and adhering to company policies, processes, and external obligations. Be the expert Faculty and Territory Managers look to.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

Additional Preferences:

  • Strong preference for those with at least three years of experience in a field facing role or three years of relevant experience
  • Demonstration of high emotional intelligence to build trust and strong relationships with customers and colleagues
  • Expertise with US affiliate marketing materials approval processes (MRO, FCAP)
  • Experience with agencies / external partner vendors
  • Live inside geography or within 30 miles of geography boundaries, located near a major hub airport is preferred – with strong preference for candidates who already reside within the geography (i.e., no relocation necessary)
  • Proficiency in local dialects
  • Proven and consistent top performance over time in account-based selling
  • Alzheimer’s disease, Diagnostics, Neuroscience/Neurology, or related experience
  • Clinical background in Alzheimer’s Disease or the diagnostics space
  • Ability to comprehend and explain complex clinical studies
  • Buy and Bill experience  
  • Experience in a fast paced and dynamic environment with an ability to synthesize the complex and to create and execute effective action plans.
  • Strong business analytics and strategic thinking skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity
  • Proven ability to work well across functions to drive results and meet customer needs
  • Exemplary ability to demonstrate resilience, grit, and appropriately self-resolve problems.
  • MBA, relevant advanced degree (e.g., Pharmacy, RN, MPH, etc.), or certification (e.g., PET/CT technologist)
  • Preference for candidates who can participate fully in established training dates
  • Preference for candidates who can participate fully in April National Meeting

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.  The anticipated wage for this position is

$127,500 - $187,000

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
