About the Role 

 

As an Associate Director in Gartner Consulting, you will lead strategic engagements focused on advising our clients in selecting the best fit ERP and enterprise applications and select the right partners for implementation and maintaining to enable business outcomes. This role is about shaping ERP strategy, guiding vendor-agnostic decisions, and ensuring alignment between business needs and technology solutions. You will have to help our clients selecting and managing the right implementation and maintenance providers. You will work closely with senior executives to influence decisions at the highest level and deliver transformational impact. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Advise clients on ERP strategy and architecture definition. 

  • Guide clients through vendor selection and roadmap development, leveraging Gartner’s research and frameworks. 

  • Assess risks and perform value assurance for large-scale transformation programs. 

  • Lead multiple strategic projects simultaneously, ensuring impactful advice to our clients. 

  • Act as a trusted advisor to CxO-level executives, articulating how ERP and enterprise applications enable business outcomes. 

  • Collaborate with internal teams to enable new business opportunities through thought leadership and client impact (without a heavy sales focus). 

  • Mentor and inspire teams, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing. 

 

What You’ll Need 

  • 10+ years of experience in ERP and enterprise applications, with a strong track record in end-to-end ERP programs (from strategy and design through implementation and go-live). 

  • Experience in ERP strategy development, program assurance, and architecture definition across multiple industries. 

  • Proven ability to engage and advise at the executive level (CxO), influencing strategic decisions. 

  • Background in management consulting, with experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder projects. 

  • Strong understanding of vendor selection processes and vendor-agnostic advisory. 

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes in fast-paced environments. 

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s/MBA preferred. 

  • Fluent in English and German (minimum C1). 

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to develop and deliver strategic analysis and recommendations to senior executives.
