Associate Data Engineer, Assurant, GCC-India
The Associate Data Engineer is responsible for supporting Data Warehouse solutions that conform to group standards which will include investigation for development and production data issues. This role will collaborate with other team members in support activities.
This position will be in Hyderabad/Bangalore/Chennai at our India location.
Work Timing:
12:30 PM - 9:30 PM IST (Regular)
3:30 PM IST- 12:30 PM IST (Once or Twice in a Week)
9:00 AM IST - 6:00 PM IST (Twice in a Year)
What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
- Works within the established development guidelines, standards, methodologies, and naming conventions
- Develops, constructs, tests and maintains scalable data solutions for structured and unstructured data to support reporting, analytics, ML and AI
- Responsible for the support and maintenance of Data Warehouse, Business Intelligence, Data Modeling, and Machine Learning solutions
- Responsible for ensuring data quality and accuracy of data between the data warehouse and operational systems.
- Liaise with business and the IT resources to investigate and resolve production issues
- Gains working knowledge of related source data systems and tool sets
- Participate at regularly scheduled meetings with internal production support team and our business users as needed
- Review and maintain all solution documentation.
- Work in high paced environment in support of broad range of technical solutions.
What are the requirements needed for this position?
- 4+ years of data warehousing experience using SQL Server BI Stack.
- 1+ year experience in Azure (Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Bricks).
- 1+ year experience support team role.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Management Systems, or related subjects.
What are the other requirements needed for this position?
- Knowledge of relational database concepts and querying techniques using Microsoft SQL Server.
- Working experience with Microsoft SQL Server Business Intelligence stack: Database Engine, Integration Services and Analysis Services, Azure tools such as Data Factory, Data Lake, Databricks.
- Advanced problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Good documentation skills.
- SQL scripting using MS SQL Server and Reporting using PowerBI.
- Knowledge of Excel, MS word, MS PowerPoint.
- Knowledge in foundational concepts and practices of Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence using Microsoft technologies.
- Data profiling and dimension modeling techniques and creation of logical and physical data models.
- Experience working with job scheduling tools.
- Experience with SQL, C#, .NET, Python, Linux Shell Script or Microsoft Power Shell, Visual Studio IDE
