Job Description

Houlihan Lokey’s Directs Advisory Group provides strategic advice and execution services to funded and independent private equity sponsors and institutional investors navigating the fast-growing market for direct transactions outside of a traditional fund structure. The group offers bespoke solutions for sponsors and other clients seeking flexible, targeted capital to support unique opportunities across asset classes and geographies. With access to many direct investors, including family offices, pension funds, insurance companies, asset managers, etc., we deliver investor-aligned structures that unlock value and accelerate execution. The Direct Placements team combines unmatched distribution capabilities with deep private equity and capital markets expertise to connect high-quality sponsors and management teams with the right long-term partners to close transactions with.

You will

  • Interact with a broad range of businesses across different industries and with unique capital needs.
  • Work side-by-side with a talented, dedicated staff of senior professionals who will provide broad exposure to the many different considerations affecting directs
  • Assist with evaluating and structuring single-asset transactions for private equity sponsors and institutional investors;
  • Gain hands-on transaction experience by playing an integral role on deal teams from the initial pitch through closing;
  • Develop general corporate finance and diligence skills relevant to raising capital, while building a detailed understanding of key developments in the equity and debt capital markets;
  • The environment at Houlihan Lokey is collegial and entrepreneurial, and, as such, rewards financial analysts with substantial responsibility and interaction with senior-level professionals

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate will have at least one year of prior investment banking / capital markets or buy-side private equity experience, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. While teamwork is essential to the firm’s success, creativity and new ideas are encouraged.
  • Coursework in or strong knowledge of accounting and finance required
  • Strong analytical capabilities and excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A fundamental understanding of asset-level due diligence, investor considerations, methodologies, and application
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all work products
  • Proactive, resourceful, and able to take initiative while working collaboratively within a close-knit team
  • Strong organizational, analytical, financial, and computer (MS Office) skills

Compensation and Benefits

Houlihan Lokey is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive total compensation package, which may include other components such as discretionary incentive compensation. The firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible salary range for this role at the time of posting is: $175,000.00-$225,000.00 Actual salary at the time of hire may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant qualifications, skills, and experience and the location where this position may be filled.
