Associate Business Systems Analyst

The Associate Business Systems Analyst assists in analyzing requirements and requests of the business, operations, and other uses of IT services; Serves as the contact for the business divisions and technology solution providers for all aspects of solution identification. The Assoc Business Systems Analyst supports projects of low to moderate complexity and performs day-to-day functions to support business operations.

This is an onsite role within our Mt Juliet TN facility.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

  • Provide expertise in a focused area of the business through analysis and understanding of business needs. Apply a fundamental knowledge of a business area's processes and practices

  • Provide business knowledge and support to resolving technology issues in their focused area of the business

  • Use appropriate tools and techniques to elicit and define requirements that address relatively simple business processes or projects of low to moderate complexity. Participate in information gathering sessions

  • May assist with project initiation or planning for projects of low to moderate complexity

  • Consult on the functional test plans and conditions for assigned applications / for projects of low complexity. Ensure that the test plans cover the testing of all defined functional requirements. Support data analysis and validation from functional tests

  • Follow the change control process to manage changes to base lined deliverables and scope for projects of low to moderate complexity

TECHNICAL EXPERTISE AND PRODUCTION SUPPORT 

  • Provide production assistance in on the applications we support.

  • Research, report, and implement simple system fixes.
     

TESTING, DEBUGGING, TEST MANAGEMENT, QUALITY ASSURANCE

  • Provide routine system support following established guidelines and procedures.

  • Perform troubleshooting with limited direction.

  • Determine testing requirements for small scale projects.

  • Design/Draft test plans and conduct unit/acceptance testing for small scale projects.

  • Provide timely resolution for testing issues.

  • Identify flaws, errors, and issues with application functionality, flow and/or program changes.

  • Research, document, report, and communicate any defects with functionality, flow and/or program changes. 

  • Produce agreed upon deliverables on time, within targeted estimates and without error.

  • Timely retesting and documentation of the corrections made for defects.
     

ANALYSIS/SOLUTION GENERATION:

  • Report system problems/testing defects to management and recommend appropriate course of action to remedy.

  • Research, report and implement fixes or workarounds for low complexity problems.  

  • Recommend temporary solutions.

  • Participate in analysis of issues resolution options for Core systems.

  • Ability to identify priority issues and determine which issues can be handled within the authority of an analyst and being able to discern those issues requiring direction from a higher authority.

  • Document existing and new business workflows.

  • Display basic knowledge of fundamental project process re-engineering approaches and techniques.
     

What are the requirements needed for this position?

  • 2+ years of professional BSA experience

  • Able to learn logical program language, such as SQL , procedures, etc.

  • Experience with standard Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Project, Visio) or equivalent

  • Requires excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively perform system support duties.

  • Knowledge of the insurance industry a plus.

  • Business Systems Analyst Certification a plus

Pay Range:

$56,200.00 - $94,100.00

Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
