Position Description
The Anoka County Property Records and Taxation department has an immediate opening for Temporary Associate Administrative Assistant – Elections Support who will perform various duties. This role performs election administration tasks required to deliver a comprehensive voter registration and election services program to the residents of Anoka County.
This is a temporary part-time, non-exempt, on-site position. The anticipated duration of this temporary position will be from Monday, June 22, 2026 – Friday, December 18th, 2026. Interviews will take place the week of May 24, 2026, for those selected to move forward in the hiring process.
Pay & Benefits
Salary: $21.72 – $29.31 per hour.

Work Location
This position will work at the Anoka County Government Center, located at 2100 3rd Ave, Anoka, MN 55303.
Expected work hours are Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., and may vary based on business needs.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
These examples are not all inclusive and are intended to be illustrative of primary responsibilities of an Anoka County Temporary Elections Specialist.
Provide clerical support for the department and troubleshoot basic issues related to department administration.
Deliver remarkable customer service while answering phones, providing front desk support and assisting walk-in guests.
Inspect returned non-forwardable mailings from cities, school districts, and postal verification cards.
Review and process registration and absentee ballot applications received.
Assist with testing of memory cards, ballet counters, and ballot marking devices using specialized software.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed
Requires a high school diploma.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Organizational skills.
Physical Demands and Work Conditions
Standard office environment.
Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus, such as to work on computers. Ability to see colors, shades, and brightness.
Hearing abilities required for general and phone communication, signals, and machine sounds.
Assignments are sedentary, occasionally alternating between sitting, standing, walking, crouching, and kneeling as required to perform job responsibilities. Frequent wrist and finger manipulation to complete computer work.
Occasional lifting of 10-20 lbs.
Equipment used includes computers, phones, and standard office equipment.
Occasional travel to other county work sites as needed. Travel between work sites may require driving a county vehicle and/or a personal vehicle.
