About the Role:

Applies in-depth knowledge and expertise of clinical and scientific education to formulary and other access decision-makers by delivering the value proposition of Neurocrine’s Product(s) to Medical Access influencers and other stakeholders within Managed Markets, Payers, Government Programs, Managed Care/HEOR societies, LTCs, ACOs and IDNs. Provides payer and formulary clinical support to identify, develop, and maintain collaborative relationships with managed care thought leaders to ensure appropriate access to treatment. Recognized as an internal thought leader and provides input into team strategy. This position will primarily cover the Western US: ideal candidates will live in Los Angeles, Phoenix, Denver or Seattle and next to a major airport.

Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):

  • Conducts formulary committee scientific presentations and leads discussions about Neurocrine products for assigned national and regional managed care accounts
  • Collaborates closely with members of the Market Access team to ensure information, resources and training needs of managed care organizations are met
  • Facilitates health economic and outcomes data generation and collaboration opportunities for pipeline products and current treatments to support lifecycle of Neurocrine products
  • Provides scientific support for Health Economics (HEOR) internal stakeholders and consultants, and advisory board activities as needed
  • Support the Directors of Field Medical Affairs teams with training, development of testimony and other resources, as assigned
  • Coaches and mentors less experienced colleagues to provide an example of innovation and excellence
  • Educates internal stakeholders on MCL team’s roles, responsibilities, and value proposition
  • Trains other FMA teams in area of expertise, as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • PhD, PharmD or equivalent in a health science field AND 7+ years of field Medical Affairs experience, including 2+ year of previous MSL experience addressing scientific and clinical issues of policy in a Managed care, Market Access role and/or relevant transferable experience (clinical practice, academic research, regulatory/scientific). Experience with health plan drug utilization decision-making (Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, DUR, Guideline Panels, ICER). Experience in conducting and communicating the results of health outcomes research. OR
  • PhD, PharmD or equivalent in a health science field AND 1+ years of field Medical Affairs Experience and 3+ years MCO experience
  • Emerging as an internal thought leader with technical and/or business expertise
  • Applies in-depth knowledge of own area of expertise to solve problems
  • Applies expertise to manage critical projects and/or relationships
  • Integrates analysis of business objectives and strategic direction to resolve problems and recommend solutions
  • Has input into short-term strategy and may be involved in long-term strategy on a functional level
  • Strong communications, problem-solving, analytical thinking, influencing skills
  • Expertise in health economic principles and clinical trials
  • Proven experience conducting and communicating the results of clinical trials, RWE and health economics and outcomes research
  • Strong understanding of regulations and current FDA guidance covering interactions of industry and managed care organizations
  • Strong-track record of fostering relationships and demonstrated ability to identify national, regional, and local KOLs/PBDMs
  • Uses extensive knowledge of FDA guidance to make informed decisions as an individual contributor
  • Proven ability to network and partner with external stakeholders, specifically managed care organizations
  • Extensive knowledge of all the clinical and scientific data for our product(s), as well as a deep understanding of managed markets

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $206,400.00-$282,000.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 30% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
