DESCRIPTION:
Join Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Systems Administration Associate III and contribute to global health outcomes through our clinical research services. In this role, you'll provide implementation, operational, and maintenance support for enterprise software applications, ensuring a stable systems environment with optimal performance and reliability. Your responsibilities will include supporting analytical software, dedicated hardware, and server-based laboratory applications. You'll resolve application issues, execute change requests, maintain system documentation, and collaborate with colleagues to address technical challenges. REQUIREMENTS:
• 2 years of experience in systems administration or equivalent combination of education and training
• Preferred Fields of Study: Computer Science or related field
• Technical certification may be required
• Proficiency with server administration and architecture (Windows Server, Linux)
• Knowledge of relational database concepts
• Experience with desktop operating systems and productivity applications (MS Office, MS Project, MS Visio)
• Strong problem-solving abilities to diagnose and resolve complex application issues
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate solution implementation across multiple groups
• Experience with laboratory information systems preferred
• Initiative to drive issue resolution to completion
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to learn new technical skills quickly
• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
• May require occasional travel
• Must be able to work in office/laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological materials
• Physical requirements include ability to lift up to 25 pounds and work in various positions as needed
