Supervision Learning is the national team responsible for the learning programs of the Supervision and Regulation and Consumer Compliance business lines in the Federal Reserve System. We are looking for a strategic leader to join us as an Assistant Vice President. You’ll work with other AVPs as part of our leadership team to provide unified direction for our organization’s strategic priorities and overall resource utilization.

Reporting to our Vice President, you will have direct oversight and accountability for three teams: Community Banking Organizations/Regional Banking Organizations portfolio, Consumer Compliance portfolio, and Project Management. You will lead three senior managers who supervise approximately 18 staff, some of whom are located in Reserve Banks across the System.

In this role, you will be employed by the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. While there is a preference for candidates to work onsite at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, candidates working from another Reserve Bank location or at the Board of Governors may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership that maximizes organizational resource utilization and alignment with business line priorities.
  • Collaborate with peers and other teams within Supervision Learning to support System-wide learning initiatives.
  • Establish strong relationships with business line leaders, Reserve Bank contacts, and Board stakeholders to understand and address high-priority learning needs.
  • Set and execute strategic priorities and initiatives; establish performance measures and quality standards and monitor progress toward goals.
  • Ensure accountability for the design, development, delivery, and maintenance of learning resources, ensuring relevancy and effectiveness.
  • Effectively communicate with leadership at all levels of the organization, including the Staff Development Subcommittee.
  • Invest in the development of leaders and team members to support individual and team growth.
  • Foster an inclusive, innovative work environment that promotes the Supervision Learning values of Respect, Learning and Teamwork.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in strategic planning and execution while leading people and managing complex business challenges in a Federal Reserve Supervision business line (strongly preferred) or learning function.
  • Examiner Commission preferred; must have sound understanding of processes and procedures utilized by the System to carry out supervision activities.
  • Required experience in:
    • Developing a clear vision and plan that motivates and empowers the team
    • Managing multiple, highly visible initiatives concurrently
    • Delivering compelling messages and presentations both verbally and in writing with an emphasis on relationship management
    • Leveraging negotiation skills to influence direction and achieve positive outcomes
    • Managing operations with strong customer focus and budget accountability
    • Establishing and monitoring key performance indicators
    • Building and developing high-performing teams across distributed geographies
    • Attracting top talent and driving employee engagement
    • Collaborating with colleagues at multiple levels of the organization and displaying a team-focused mindset
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, education, or related field of study or commensurate experience.
  • Ability to travel approximately 10% - 15% of the time
  • US Citizenship or lawful permanent resident intending to become a citizen who meets certain other requirement
