The AVP - Operational Risk Sr Analyst is a seasoned professional role responsible for overseeing the end‑to‑end reconciliation and proofing processes to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timely substantiation of balance sheet accounts. The role provides coordination and subject‑matter oversight across reconciliation activities. The coordinator partners closely with Account Owners, Operations, Finance, Controllers, and Governance teams to ensure reconciliations are completed in line with policy, regulatory requirements, and internal control standards. This role also supports escalation of issues, drives timely remediation, ensures appropriate documentation and audit readiness, and contributes to continuous improvement of reconciliation and proofing processes to strengthen balance sheet governance. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow for the area or function. Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Involved in coaching and training of new recruits. Significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc. by influencing decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization. Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual.

Responsibilities:
  • Act as Balance Sheet Champion for Services Ops, ensuring strong balance sheet governance, substantiation quality, and risk oversight.
  • Oversee Full Key (FK) ownership, resolving disputes, supporting roll‑downs, and ensuring accurate Legal Entity, GOC, and structural mapping.
  • Manage monthly eRecon substantiation and attestations, including review of aged balances, breaks, and unresolved items.
  • Review Risk & Recoverability Templates (RRTs), including extended settlement and waiver requests, ensuring proper documentation and remediation.
  • Provide oversight of reserve governance, including reserve adequacy, write‑offs, and reversals in line with policy.
  • Support quarterly Account Executive (AE) attestations, ensuring issues are addressed prior to sign‑off.
  • Oversee BSER reporting categorization, ensuring accuracy measurement type.
  • Serve as a key liaison for Internal Audit, and External Audit, supporting reviews and remediation.
  • Represent Services Ops as global liaison among BSG, Finance, Controllers, RADAR, GRU, CCRU and other Partners and Stakeholders.
  • Effective communication: cross-functional collaboration, presentations to Senior Management, issue resolution in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred or equivalent in experience.
  • 5+ years of related work experience.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills required.
  • Excellent analytical background and skill set to understand Reconciliation processes, including system data flows.
  • Able to work with large volumes of data from different sources.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with ability to take accountability, make decisions and maintain a controlled environment.
  • Ability to multi-task, be proactive and goal-oriented.
  • Strong interpersonal/communication skills (oral and written) and confidence to work with different levels of management.


Preferred but not required:

  • Masters in Accounting or Finance; Certified Public Accountant or International Equivalent; Certified Financial Analyst.
  • Previous experience with Citi systems including Flexcube, Fullsuite etc.
  • Previous exposure to Citi's Reconciliation process (including eRecon process)
  • Previous Services products experience or exposure.
  • Previous Exposure to global processes and teamwork across various locations and cultures.

Working hours need to be adjusted to support at least till 12:00pm EST time
