Purpose of Job:

Supports the store manager in daily operations, driving sales and leading the team on the sales floor to ensure high quality customer service.

Job Components:

  • Consults with customers/prospects regarding product needs and determines how those needs can best be satisfied. 
  • Tests, analyzes and diagnoses battery problems.
  • Receives specifications and/or samples and builds/rebuilds battery packs. 
  • Stocks shelves and sets up displays. 
  • Participates in cleaning activities for areas of the center such as floors, windows, displays, parking lot, etc.
  • Performs managerial/supervisory activities when Store Manager is out of the store or by special assignment. 
  • Ensures store is opened and/or closed in a timely manner.
  • Prepares daily and other periodic reports and reconciliations such as deposits, cash recaps, inventory, etc.
  • Ensures the store is merchandised according to company standards
  • Generates invoices and manages accounts for timely payment follow up.
  • Monitors inventory levels and oversees and coordinates the delivery and receipt of battery products.
  • Ensures that the store is clean and presentable to customers.
  • Monitors and ensures observance of safety policies and safe work habits.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a high school diploma and at least 1 year of recent management experience and 5 years of retail experience. Battery experience is a plus but not required.
  • Must have and maintain a valid Texas Drivers License and an acceptable driving record.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to type at least 45wpm
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in office 360 and google suites.
  • Ability to operate motor vehicle, straddle stacker and pallet jack.
  • Ability to use/be trained on using welder, soldering iron and testing equipment for battery building/ rebuilding.

Scope Data:

  • Reports to the Store Manager and is required to interact with other sales floor employees, customers and prospects, delivery recipients, and other people who would be common to a retail environment.
  • Responsible for management of Store Associates.
  • 90-day initial review; annual review thereafter.
  • Handles financial transactions and adheres to the company cash handling policy; responsible for some store paperwork.

Work Environment:

  • Ability to sustain posture in a seated or standing position for prolonged periods of time
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move 50+ lbs.
  • Work is performed primarily in a retail store setting, however, frequently exposed to dirt and dust, fumes, temperature extremes, dampness and battery acid.
  • Stress associated with workplace pressure and the retail environment.
  • Some company travel is required.
