About the Role:
Surbana Jurong Group, through SMEC, is seeking an Assistant Resident Engineer to support the supervision and delivery of major infrastructure, ports, and marine construction projects. The role supports the Resident Engineer in ensuring construction works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, contract requirements, safety standards, and project schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support day-to-day construction supervision activities across civil, structural, marine, and infrastructure works
• Monitor contractor performance, progress, and compliance with approved drawings and technical specifications
• Assist in reviewing method statements, inspection and test plans, and material submittals
• Support quality assurance, site inspections, testing, and handover activities
• Assist in monitoring construction progress, variations, and site records
• Promote compliance with project HSE requirements and safety standards
• Coordinate with the Client, PMC, Contractor, and supervision team to resolve site issues.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• Typically 12 to 15 years of experience in construction supervision roles
• Experience in ports, marine works, infrastructure, roads, utilities, or major civil projects
• Familiarity with FIDIC-based contracts and consultant-led supervision environments.
