Summary of Job Duties:

This position is a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position with specialization in Information Quality. The Department of Information Science seeks an excellent, student-centered faculty member with the ability to teach and conduct research in areas such as data governance, Al governance, AI and Cutting-Edge Data Quality Tools, Al Data Observability, and data quality management. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.


Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • A Ph.D. in Information Quality, Information Systems/Technologies, Computer Science, and/or related discipline.

Preferred Education and/or Experience:

  • Experience in the information quality industry.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teach a minimum of two classes each semester in support of our Graduate Program in Information Quality using the Hybrid-Flexible course design model (i.e., live instruction plus webcasting plus online recording);

  • Contribute to the Department's scholarly productivity through publishing, pursuit of funded research projects, and presenting at conferences/professional meetings;

  • Assist in mentoring graduate students on their theses/projects in our information quality and information science graduate programs;

  • Participate in Department/College Governance Processes, especially curriculum and program recruitment and retention efforts;

  • Participation in industry/professional groups is highly encouraged.

  • Ability to provide effective mentorship;

  • Evidence of strong research potential;

  • Commitment to quality, inclusive teaching using both face-to-face and online learning modalities.
