Purpose of the Job:
Define and implement procurement strategy for Raw Materials in specific area of responsibility, which meets current and future business needs. Analyse market and supply chain, negotiate contract terms, understand, and manage risk and supplier performance and relationship management, to achieve the most competitive terms including price, quality, on-time delivery. Ensure holistic sustainable supply to ensure business & plant continuity.
Main Accountabilities:
1. Develop and execute sourcing strategies by conducting market analysis, engaging suppliers, and maintaining up to date insight into global and regional supply–demand dynamics.
2. Lead price and commercial negotiations to secure competitive pricing, monitor contract prices against market movements, and deliver agreed cost reduction targets.
3. Manage procurement of functional additive raw materials in Asia, ensuring optimal long chain planning and contributing to global category alignment and leverage.
4. Negotiate and finalize supplier terms and conditions in accordance with company standards, involving legal support where non standard clauses apply.
5. Define and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure supplier compliance, contract performance, and delivery of agreed outcomes.
6. Build and maintain strong supplier relationships through regular reviews, audits, performance discussions, and structured savings and improvement roadmaps.
7. Conduct supplier and product risk assessments, develop mitigation plans for critical materials, and collaborate with technical and production teams on alternative solutions.
8. Address complex regulatory compliance requirements, including EU REACH, TSCA, Biocides declaration, Food Contact regulations and other applicable frameworks with the support of the Global Regulatory function.
9. Lead and support procurement improvement projects, including best practice benchmarking, process optimization, spend consolidation, and efficiency initiatives.
10. Manage Mass Tender processes, ensuring structured execution, competitive outcomes, and alignment with category and business objectives.
11. Ensure all procurement activities comply with Quality, Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) regulations, meeting internal, contractual, and legal requirements.
12. Provide functional coverage and support to other procurement team members as needed to ensure continuity of operations.
13. Deliver strategic procurement responsibilities, including category strategy development, contract lifecycle management, ESG related activities (e.g., Code of Conduct, EcoVadis, TfS), and preparation of market intelligence reporting.
14. Uphold and demonstrate Synthomer Core Values in all internal and external interactions, ensuring professional conduct and alignment with organizational expectations.
Expected Deliverable:
• Implement agreed savings targets for the businesses.
• Create a Risk Management Strategy for the responsible businesses.
• Coordinate the implementation of the Risk Management Strategy with respective stakeholders (Innovation/Technology, Operations, Supply Chain & Suppliers).
• Prepare reporting and provide market insights for the responsible businesses.
• Manage the entire Contract Management processes for the responsible materials.
• Participate in all ESG aspects related to the Procurement Strategy (Code of Conduct, EcoVadis, PCF, TfS audit, etc.)
• Develop Category Strategies papers for responsible categories.
• Participate actively in Supplier Performance Management.
• Non-exhaustive administrative tasks (approvals of a new material, invoice management, non-conformance management, contract management, price maintenance, audit support, tolling projects, innovation workshops, etc.)
