About the Role
We are currently seeking bright and kind individuals who are passionate about developing and inspiring people, delivering quality service to our clients, and driving safe, high-quality, and efficient fulfillment operations. As an Assistant Operations Manager, you will closely partner with an Operations Manager and/or GM to support and lead a team of supervisors, process leads, and associates within an assigned department or shift (e.g., inbound, outbound, inventory, returns).
The Assistant Operations Manager is responsible for daily execution of fulfillment operations within an assigned department or shift. This role ensures safe, high- quality and efficient operations while developing front-line leaders and associates. The AOM partners cross-functionally to deliver safety, quality, service, cost, and people outcomes while developing as a ready successor to the Operations Manager.

- Lead a team of supervisors, process leads, and warehouse associates with ownership of daily execution and end-of-shift results.
- Own daily operations for assigned departments or shifts, including shift start-ups, labor planning, volume execution, and performance against Safety, Quality, Service, Cost, and People metrics.
- Identify and resolve barriers to flow, productivity, service, quality, and safety by ensuring adherence to standard work, SOPs, and process discipline.
- Lead and/or support Operations Managers on special projects, peak planning, and network initiatives as required.
- Onboard, train, and cross-train team members, ensuring smooth integration, role clarity, and readiness for peak and business needs.
- Guide, support, and manage your direct reports to ensure they meet performance expectations while building strong engagement and accountability.
- Actively motivate, coach, and mentor leaders and associates to foster a culture of continuous improvement, safety ownership, and inclusion at the site and across the network.
- Champion a strong safety culture by leading safety engagement, incident investigations, corrective actions, audits, and training completion in alignment with OSHA and company standards.
- Analyze daily performance data (productivity, quality, service, labor efficiency, cost) to identify trends, gaps, and improvement opportunities, and drive root cause solutions.
- Execute labor plans aligned to forecasted volume and productivity targets, optimizing labor deployment, labor sharing, and overtime usage.
- Partner cross-functionally with HR, Safety, Maintenance, Engineering, IT, Transportation, Planning, Inventory Control, and Quality teams to deliver results and manage change effectively.
- Demonstrate agile leadership in ambiguous, fast-paced environments with a strong bias for action, ownership, and accountability, while instilling the same mindset in your team.

- You have 4+ years of people leadership experience within a warehouse, fulfillment, or manufacturing setting, including experience leading leaders and influencing large teams. (Required)
- You are proficient in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace and comfortable learning and mastering new systems. (Required)
- Experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and labor management tools in an operational environment.(Required)
- You bring experience operating in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment with accountability for safety, service, productivity, quality, and cost outcomes.
- You demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, using data to make informed decisions and implement sustainable countermeasures.
- You have experience setting efficiency standards, managing labor plans, and balancing short- and long-term operational priorities at the department level.
- You bring a continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to simplify complex processes, lead root cause analysis, and drive standardization and best-practice sharing across the network.
- You can develop business cases (ROI) by critically assessing business, employee, and client impact and risk.
- You have experience supporting hiring, onboarding, performance management, attendance, conduct, and succession planning with consistency and fairness.

- You are flexible and available to support operations outside of standard business hours, including nights, weekends, and peak periods as required.
