Day: 8 hoursJob Description
The assistant manager directs and supervises daily operations, resources, employees, and performance improvement on a 24-hour basis in collaboration with the Director and Manager of the Respiratory Care Services Department. The assistant manager will develop management skills pursuant to growth to higher level management position. The assistant manager assists in development and attainment of the department’s goals. The assistant manager also helps department meet budgetary and productivity targets.
Ensures staff provide high quality, accessible, cost effective care, and patient focused services while complying with local, state, and federal requirements
Assists with the monitoring of financial performance and identifies/implements strategies to reduce costs and improve quality of care/service while reviewing budgets for the appropriate use of human and material resources
Provides clinical supervision to patient care staff
In special circumstances, when necessary for patient care/patient safety, may perform work that is normally done by the bargaining unit
Determines the appropriate staff skill mix for the department and screen, interview, hire, train, and maintain the competency of all department staff
Assists with and resolves human resource, employee and department safety, and risk management issues.
Ensures on going staff clinical and professional development
Facilitates the advancement of respiratory care practice and assumes twenty-four hour responsibility
Monitors and develops standards of care and standards of practice, fiscal management, and quality improvement activities
Ensures staff provides the highest quality of care and is in compliance with the Respiratory Therapy Practice Act, The Joint Commission, federal, state, and local regulatory requirements
Serves as role model and mentors staff
Performs rounds on patients and staff
Other duties as required
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred; preferably a Bachelor’s of Science
Three (3) years clinical experience in specialty area.
Epic user experience preferred
Previous management experience preferred
Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal skills and teamwork
Ability to organize, prioritize and delegate appropriately.
License/Certification/Registration Requirements
Current California RCP license required.
Current BLS and ACLS certification.
Specialty certification preferred
Ages of Patients Served
This position may be involved in the assessment, treatment and care of patients based on area assigned.
Salary Range:
$74.46 - $111.69 USD HourlyThe Physical Requirements and Working Conditions of this job are available.
