The Job

  • Act as a compliance specialist representing the Agency Channel with a 1.5-line-of-defense mindset.

  • Assist in compliance reviews to address regulatory changes and industry best practices in insurance, and support the design, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of policies and procedures for the agency compliance framework to help achieve business objectives in a compliant manner.

  • Assist in developing and rolling out educational initiatives, including training programs and various publications, for the agency channel to promote a culture of good conduct.

  • Perform risk-based monitoring  of agency distribution practices to detect risks of misconduct and fraud, ensuring timely escalation and investigation of issues in accordance with company procedures.

  • Conduct quality assurance checks to confirm the agency channel’s compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Assist with the investigation, analysis, and reporting of compliance incidents related to agency conduct.

  • Collaborate with the compliance team, auditors, and Group Office to enhance overall compliance across FWD Group.

  • Handle regulatory enquiries and ad hoc compliance tasks as assigned.

The Person

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent in business administration, accounting, finance, law or related disciplines.

  • Minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience in a compliance-related function within the insurance sector; experience working as 1.5 line of defense in a local insurer is preferable.

  • Understanding of the Code of Conduct, guidelines, and circulars issued by the Insurance Authority of Hong Kong.

  • Good interpersonal, communication, analytical, and bilingual drafting skills.

  • Proactive, result-oriented, and adept at multitasking in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficient in PC applications, including MS Office and Power BI.
