What this job requires:

  • Hands-on experience managing US Tax related activities
  • Sound Knowledge of US labour laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements
  • Proficiency in Payroll Tax processes with ability to resolve complex queries between Tier 2-3
  • Process and reconcile payroll tax reporting of all federal, state, and local taxes after each pay and process timely transmission of payroll tax liability to ADP.
  • Work with tax manager to process all company state and local registrations. Responsible for completing company required quarterly government reporting BLS 3020-Multiple Worksite Report.
  • Assist tax manager with the testing process for all new federal, state, and local updates in ADP Global View, ensure the payroll system has the most current rates.
  • Prepare W2cs and corresponding amendment returns with ADP Global View.
  • Respond to employee cases per established Service level agreement (SLA) Work with W4 vendor and payroll tax manager with new W4 forms and system updates.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all department documentation for payroll tax processes/procedures is continually updated.
  • Participate in quarter-end and year-end adjustments and reconciliations.
  • Fix the periodic tax errors in ADP Global View.
  • Assist tax manager with SOX audit requirements.
  • Handle special projects as needed.
  • Responsible for ensuring US tax equalization settlements are entered into payroll system for processing.
  • Process US Hypo withholding tax calculations including assisting with employee refunds or payments to the Internal Revenue Service.
  • Process taxable non-qualifying moving expenses.
  • Handle errors/escalations from process partners, HRs and provide RCA plan to Team/Process Lead
  • Take Ownership of deliverables and put it in action in absence of Team/Process Lead
  • Update and/or Review SOP’s and process-maps on a regular basis based on new inputs/changes/updates and work with content owners to ensure documents are up to date
  • Own Quality Check process on the Key/Critical HR transactions processed by team as defined in the Quality framework
  • Adherence to agreed KPIs, KRAs, SLAs and customer service standards
  • Managing stakeholder calls with the US process owners/partners on a regular basis and ensures required documentation
  • Ability to challenge the status quo and implement process improvements to enhance the end user and people partner experience.
  • Manage process training/team trainings which includes new hire sessions, knowledge transfer sessions, process update sessions

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Candidate should possess minimum 7 years of demonstrated payroll experience with an in-depth payroll tax related emphasis with multi-state and local tax experience.
  • Analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills (with a passion for detail).
  • Must be a highly motivated self-starter.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under the tight time constraints and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Perform tax research – familiar with Bloomberg Tax and Accounting resource.
  • Ability to work well with others to ensure proper compliance and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with ADP Global View, ADP Smart Compliance, Workday or equivalent.
  • Knowledge on MS Office Suite skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) with good command on Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.  
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is desirable
