ROLE PROFILE

Job Title:

Team Lead – Financial Reporting

Reports To:

RTR – Senior Manager

Context/Scope:

Diageo’s Business Shared Services (DBS) aim to bring to bear Diageo’s Operating Model by supporting standard processes and systems with effective and efficient shared services across Diageo.

The Shared Services model currently supports Diageo Markets across the world and is responsible for Financial Control, Source to Pay, End to End Commercial and HR. It also encompasses a significant part of the group’s Financial Planning and Reporting and Treasury activities (Accounting, Control and Performance). Shared Services locations include Budapest, Bangalore, Bogota, Manila and Nairobi

As such DBSI is playing a key role in ensuring effective operation with minimum disruption to business in the Record to Report Work Stream

Purpose of Role:

  • Directing a team of 5-8 involved in general ledger month end closing activities, financial reporting Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Provision/Accrual Posting, Fixed Asset accounting, Intercompany Accounting, Banking, reporting and audit support.
  • Elicits, analyzes, specifies, and validates the business needs of collaborators and Collaborates with project sponsors to resolve project scope and vision.
  • Ability to interprets data and turns it into information which can offer ways to improve a business.

Accountabilities

  • Supervise performance and quality control plans to identify improvements.
  • Developing and implementing data analyses, data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
  • Prepare and ensure review of balance sheet reconciliation and substantiation
  • Establish and make sure proper accounting methods, policies and principles
  • Coordinate and complete annual group and statutory audits
  • Review and submit business unit reporting/review management reports
  • Maintain rigorous controls across RTR  processes– CARM activity
  • Maintain financial accounting process documentations.
  • Maintain leading and lagging metrics and productivity data
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of client’s financial accounting policies and generally accepted accounting principles, internal control standards, and statutory reporting requirements, as this relates to General Accounting.
  • Maintain a thorough awareness and understanding of client’s General Accounting and Reconciliation processes, closing calendars, and financial systems.
  • Ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability of information, records or processes associated with services provided.
  • Develops good client relationships and good relations with the colleagues
  • Lead Special Projects and Handle customer expectations
  • Work with management to prioritize business and information needs

Qualifications and Experience Required:

Qualifications

  • University graduate or equivalent experience, B Com , MBA (Finance) , CA/ICWAI (Preferred)

Experience

  • 8-12 years of relevant work experience in F&A shared service organisation or any other industry.
  • Team handling experience and should be currently working as a people manager for RTR.
  • Customer care and team playing skills
  • Candidates who worked up to finalization of accounts or assisted in finalization will be an added advantage
  • Good exposure to finance and accounting processes
  • Experience in month end financial reporting.
  • Conversant with General ledger tasks in SAP application.

Crucial Skills:

  • People and Senior Collaborator Management
  • Experience in SAP
  • Project Management Skills in F&A space
  • Good in Advance Excel and PowerPoint.  Power BI experience will be an added advantage.
  • Confirmed working experience as a Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good understanding of Indian Accounting
  • Handling priorities and Working under stringent timelines
  • Has Customer Focus to be able to build excellent relationships with relevant internal and external customers
  • Hard working and flexible personality
