Assistant Manager, Events & Centralised Solutions

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial & Fund Management

  • Support and coordinate the annual budgeting exercise, including consolidation, tracking, and reporting of utilisation trends.

  • Conduct financial analysis, forecasting, and manpower projections to support data-driven planning and decision-making.

  • Monitor and optimise fund utilisation, including initiating virement, reclassification, and account adjustments where necessary.

  • Develop and standardise internal budgeting and reporting processes to enhance governance and audit readiness.

2. Procurement, Claims & Travel Administration

  • Oversee procurement and claims processing to ensure compliance with policies and approved budgets.

  • Monitor open POs and financial commitments to minimise outstanding items and improve budget control.

  • Manage business travel requests and claims, ensuring spending aligns with approved projections.

3. Manpower Recruitment & Administration

  • Coordinate recruitment, renewal, and remuneration of contract staff and Associates (local and overseas).

  • Oversee onboarding logistics and continuously improve onboarding processes and documentation.

  • Assess manpower needs and optimise allocation across teams to ensure operational continuity.

4. Stakeholder & Operational Coordination

  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and corporate finance/procurement units on budgeting and compliance matters.

  • Provide financial advisory support to ensure prudent spending and adherence to governance standards.

  • Support leadership through effective calendar management, scheduling coordination, and operational alignment.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university in a relevant discipline such as Finance, Accounting, Human Resource, Business Management.

  • Minimum of 5 - 7 years’ experience with exposure to a wide range of finance/accounting responsibilities preferably in higher education (or a comparably complex organisation), involving a range of senior stakeholders.

  • Sound financial acumen, including budget planning, stewardship, and optimisation of resources.

  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and internal control frameworks.

  • Proficiency in finance ERP and procurement software such as SAP, ariba, Oracle.

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly MS Excel.

  • Demonstrated strength in business partnering and excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills (verbal and written), with the ability to influence and partner senior internal and external stakeholders.

  • Strong time and project managements skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure and tight timelines.
