REQ13701 Assistant Head (Open)
POSITION SUMMARY:
Reports to General Stage Manager. Leads the Stage Management team and facilitates the daily operations, safe needs and consistent operations of House of Dancing Water show and other performances in City of Dreams. To communicate and collaborate with all internal and external departments, parties, supplier, vendors, and develop a strong partnership within the Artistic, Technical and Customer Service departments.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the daily performance, rehearsal and training operations and run the daily performances.
- Prepare the performance script, show, training, and staging reports.
- Call the show cues as necessary for each performance week.
- Train the other Stage Management Department in all of the necessary areas of operation including show call, schedule and line-up.
- Maintain a healthy department through consistent and open communication with the Stage Management team, identifying scope for training, growth and promotion.
- Ensure positive relations between the Stage Management, Technical and Artistic teams.
- Prepare the daily show report with respect to all technical and performance aspects.
- Provide assistance to the performers and support the performers by assisting and guiding their interaction with all stage management needs.
- Assist in creating a positive atmosphere for all show personnel.
- Coordinate, prepare and distribute the weekly and daily schedule for the show and performers as needed for Coaching, the Wardrobe Department, the Artistic Coordinator and Stage Manager.
- Prepare the daily line-up for each show, Performer Wellness, Artists Management, Coaching and Wardrobe.
- Track the performers rehearsal hours and record-keeping.
- Facilitate integration planning for individual new artists and cast-changeovers.
- Stage Manager rehearsals and trainings.
- Run stage management deck tracks and cross train others as required.
- Develop and execute the Aquatics Show call.
- Develop and execute the show call.
- Write daily rehearsal reports for the department.
- In the event of a problem during the running of a show, communicate the problem to the Assistant Director, Show Management and along with the technical department heads, find a solution and oversee the implementation of the plan.
- Work in close cooperation with members of the emergency team in the case of injury or a medical emergency.
- Enforcing all company policies and procedures as they relate to the show.
- Ensuring the time and attendance data is accurate for the performers and Stage Management team.
- Create an atmosphere that promotes teamwork, maximizes productivity and minimizes costs.
- Assist with maintaining all of the stage management paperwork.
- Facilitate offsite Moto training.
- Assist with staging and managing special event performances, when required.
- Work with the stage management team to rehearse and implement safety plans and procedures for the stage. Assist in co-ordinating the Stage management teams response in emergency situations.

- Provide professional opinion and support on Entertainment, Events and Show related offering within Melco facilities including but not limited to HODW.
- Participate in and oversee special projects, including, event, dinner, celebrations, seminars, expos and happenings across the company when required.
- Perform other reasonable tasks and projects assigned by the management of Entertainment department.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience
- A minimum of three years of Show Caller experience on a large scale, location based, live theatrical production.

- Energetic, enthusiastic and hardworking; ability to remain calm in a turbulent environment while demonstrating a sense of prioritization
- The ability to supervise and discipline artistic/performance personnel and to perform under pressure
- Must possess problem solving skills and strong interpersonal skills with proven skills in leadership and teamwork
- Must be flexible and able to quickly adapt to unexpected situations, to work with a varied schedule and tight deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to demonstrate and inspire complete trust and integrity
- Knowledge and understanding of automations, fluid effects and rigging which apply to cueing and creating a safe work environment for performers and crew
- Professional maturity; to work comfortably in a multicultural environment
- Flexibility to change direction midstream to accommodate volatile needs
- Fully developed fluency in English; written, read and spoken is essential
