Assistant Equipment Manager

Job Summary: Assist and coordinate tasks in equipment operations by working closely with players, coaching staff and team personnel to maintain the teams equipment and apparel by following established policies and procedures.

Duties & Responsibilities

Assist Equipment team with tasks by:

  • Assisting in the distribution and maintenance of equipment
  • Facilitate in equipment repair or send out as needed
  • Assist in fitting as needed to aid in injury prevention
  • Packing and restocking of equipment weekly for appropriate game day conditions

- Lead coordination of NFL mandated equipment tracking and all associated systems and technologies therein. Assist with NFL C2P communications and technologies and all processes and practices therein.

Assists team with administrative tasks by:

  • Maintain records of supplies in stock and supplies issued to facilitate in purchasing and restocking as needed
  • Perform annual physical inventory
  • Assist in purchasing of equipment and apparel
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of NFL rules on equipment related policies and proper equipment fitting procedures
  • Data entry and scanning of protective equipment

- Maintain efficient daily laundry process of player, staff and administrative apparel

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from four-year college or technical school
  • 2+ year equipment experience and/or training at the NFL level
  • 1+ year equipment experience in collegiate football
  • Minimum of one year of either of the above in a full time capacity
  • Knowledge of NFL rules and regulations equipment
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision making skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to be on feet 12+ hours a day and lift/move heavy equipment

Preferred Skills & Ability 

  • Professional Certification from AEMA or comparable Equipment organization preferred, obtained in first 2 years of employment if not already certified
  • Ability to supervise interns and ball boys in accordance with organization’s policies and applicable laws
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and maintenance instructions
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Ability to operate any number of different technologies that relate to fitting of equipment and execution of practices and games
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situation

In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the expected salary for this position is $68,000 - $80,000.
